I did comment earlier that I was sold on its real. But I just realized one small thing. The screen does not have the menu bar. I don't know if Appeture is possible to hide the menu bar, but now I am no longer sure it is real. The image is pasted on there. So somebody edited this image. Was it Apple... Not so sure any more.

I'm not saying its real but the "menu" suggestion doesn't mean a thing.
Look at the comparison on the front page, the official Apple promo for the MBP doesn't have a menu bar either & its the same screen image.

looks neat. kinda wish the mockup had the black keyboard from the air. that would look hot. it looks great without the magnetic latch and button. neat too that the isight is hidden in the bezel and the front row IR too. could be a slick machine.

just to add to this - the picture shows Aperture in Full-screen mode. Hence - no menu bar!

Again, it's extremely unlikely that this is real; especially given that it's in T-Mobile's interests to drum up as much hype/attention as possible for their site but it's in Apple's interests to keep future models completely secret until they're launched.

You honestly believe Deutsche Telekom did this intentionally to "drum up attention"? Perhaps you don't know how huge that corporation really is.

I agree. Most of the rumors have said that the laptops would be thinner and have more rounded edges. The corners at the top of the monitor look to be the same as the original MBP.

Whats that really mean anyways? Rumors are just speculation and wishful thinking. Whatever the MBP ends up being could be totally different from all the rumors. Watch the next speed bump come with no esthetic changes and blow everyone away! :p

This definitely screams fake to me unless they uploaded the wrong image for the current MBP. There would definitely be a cpu bump on these, not to mention a storage bump and a newer version of the gpu.

I am pretty certain that this is a mockup. Actually I really hope it is b/c I'm expecting a little bit more from Apple on this refresh for the MBP.

No one is suggesting those specs are correct. At best, it might be them mistakingly inserting the new photo when they should have used the current one. Those specs are EXACTLY what they're supposed to be, for the current MBP.

People please stop debating whether those SPECS are real/new, its making this thread double as long as it would be otherwise.

Yes, this is a Fake, a lot of Big companies hires IT students to update their website and certainly this guy that task was to edit webpages did add his own photoshoped image for fun, a bet with friends or making him famous who never knows. Now that The Company notice that it was online (thank you Mac Rumours) they have delete the entire Mac page to update images before they have problem with customers and Apple INC.

Nope, its still there on my end.

I have a theory.

They were adding a product and needed an image to go along with it. The Google Image search turned up a fan-made mockup, which they gladly snatched and uploaded to their e-commerce software.

Allow me to burst your bubble w/ a little pin.

Companies as large as Deutsche Telekom don't google for images on their websites, they get them direct from the manufacturer.

Yes. Because that's a great attitude for a capitalist company to have. :)

EDIT: Should this somehow be a true pic, I'll be happy. It looks like the touchpad is _really_ wide, which IMHO would ROCK. Also, it looks like the keyboard is ripped from a white macbook style. The keyboard is personally one of the big reasons I'm waiting for the new ones. I really prefer the Macbook to the Pro for typing on. :)

I dunno, I hope its real, but we shouldn't expect it to be.

Proof people see what they want to see.

does anyone else notice....

the aperture screen being shown is the same screen shot as the current gen macbook pro... right? not quite.

check out the editing widget. on the current all aluminum mbp, the widget is really dark gray, whereas the new "mockup" has a semi-transparent widget.

i'm not even going to take a side in the debate, because it truly doesnt matter. just pointing out a little detail.

It's not semi-transparent. There's a reflection 'shopped over the whole screen and it just looks a bit like you could see the mountains through the widget.

Delivery timing...(not MBP related but...)

Our office ordered some new Macs (2xiMac and 1xMacMini) yesterday. No major configuration changes. Ready for shipment in 3 days... Delivery expected by the end of September, beginning of October.

Seems quite a long time to me for base models. So I post it here to let you know that my opinion is we are looking for:
- speed bump on iMac
- something on the MacMini as well

This, in turn, leads me to think that MB and MBP will be announced in this timeframe as well. Of course I might be wrong and it just might be due to the huge request Apple has for iMacs and MacMinis!

How long before was the "Let's Rock" event announced? I have seen many speculations and rumors but no official invitation to anything until now.

To Tallest Skil,

Thanks for keeping all this BS to a minimum! ;)

Thanks. As fun as it would be to be a constant "Wouldn't it be sooooooo kewl if Apple gave us *such-and-such*", it's far less disappointing to think realistically.

No Blu-ray ever then for Apple?
I guess Apple does not like Blu-ray that much.

Tallest Skil, I really like reading your replies.

Thanks again, and never say never. Blu-ray data disks work in OS X already, and you can even burn HD video to Blu-ray for playback both on Blu-ray players and in OS X, because you won't be burning it with HDCP. HDCP is the only thing that Apple does not like about Blu-ray, and since they would not only have to put the bloatware in OS X, they would have to change much of their hardware lineup to accommodate it; and Apple hates DRM.

Since everything about Blu-ray works except movies, I'm not particularly upset at all about Apple not giving it to us as a BTO, even though they've been on the board since before Blu-ray was certified (back when it was called Blue-ray, but they had to change it because apparently you can't copyright a color).

Another reason that I don't particularly care if Apple offers Blu-ray as a hardware option is... IT'S APPLE. Do you have ANY idea how much that would COST?! For the price of an Apple update to Blu-ray, you could pick up a Blu-ray player for your TV AND... AAAAND a Blu-ray data burner for your computer and put it in yourself!

You think the whining would end with Apple's addition of Blu-ray? Nope. The whiners would shift from "Why no Blu-ray?!" to "Why so (much money for) Blu-ray?!"

And why isn't this thread dead yet?:p

If you read as far as comment 18 in this thread you'll discover this:

"I just found this: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthre...467134&page=13

It was already posted in April, comment 318 there you can view it in HQ."

So the image is a fake, but you wonder how it ended up on T-mobiles site?

Ya but if you read all the way to comment 140 you'd see that its very close but not the same image or (alleged) computer. :p

And here's a comparison with a similar Mockup from April 2008 (first google image hit for Macbook Pro Mockup):
