That looks like an unimaginative mockup. Now this looks like an inspired mockup. http://www.flickr.com/photos/elchinocudeiro/2802517685/

EDIT: Added picture

The specs seem to be the ones of the current MBP but it does seem weird that it says that it can't be shipped yet.

This one is available for immediate delivery, if you're so interested. Just remember to take a picture when you get it.

It's just some bored technician's doing...

Nope. That one is a change to the 15" MacBook Pro, and this one is a change to the 17". Not exactly different, but not exactly the same.
I think it's the same image. When you compare the size of CD/DVD slot (assuming it's same size in both) againt the width of the notebook, the mockup from the shop looks like 17", and it's said to be 15", so no real thing.

The only interesting part is

that T-Systems is a close sister company to T-Mobile, which does sell the iPhone in Germany.

If this beast has a SIM-Card reader and is able to surf the 3G net without extra cards, this might make sense.

Looks daft to me. Keeping everything the same, but giving the screen a black border?

Although if I saw it in real life, I might have a different opinion.

Be interesting to see what the real MacBook Pro turns out to look like.

It just might be

Well, T-Systems is a reputable company, in the same corporation as T-Mobile network in Germany. I doubt they would use any internet pic for this. The specifications are clearly this gen (old), so it could be that somebody made a mistake and slapped a photo from the new press kit onto an existing product page.

If I had to bet, I would put my money on it being real.

In my opinion the new look is nice. But somehow I expected more. I don't believe they will reduce the size as much as people expect. Look at the new Nano. They shave where they can, but overall it is very similar size.

If the change is not as bit as I expected, I am starting to worry that the internals are not updated as thouroughly either. And that would be a real turn off.

But, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

T-Systems is just a branch of German Telecom (T-Mobile which sells iPhones in Germany is another one).

From the description, this is clearly the current model (it says in stock!). They might just have a wrong image there. I doubt that is has anything todo with new MBPs.

Regards
Hartmut

I agree, the black border and keyboard appear to be the only difference. The specs arent that different as well. Jobs better step it up.

Even if this ends up being real I hope they won't fit each and every one with glossy displays - I hate glossy!

The specs on the website are exactly the same as the Macbook Pro we have now. I call fake.

the DVD drive looks kind of too small.

I want it to be true, but it just doesn't look good enough to be real!

You're right. I would bet the editor who messed it up and already published the updated image in their online shop's content management system is in some trouble right now.
T-System is Germany's biggest IT service and software company, I dont think that they will use fake images on their web site.

How's it supposed to latch?

Good point - there isn't any physical way of opening the lid unless you put your nails under it. If it were magnetic, it would need the indent like the MacBook.

the DVD drive looks kind of too small.

DVD drive is in the same place, and everything is identical to the 17" MacBook Pro, aside the black rim around the screen.

soooo fake! while I like the lid portion, the bottom casing does not seem to conform to the numerous rumors circulating.
