I'm still in love with my silver 14". The design is SEXY! The Keyboard is perfect. The touchpad amazing........... The size is the best size I've ever used. No complaints here!
Or something. This gives me comfortable hand placement to type.
I found these two lines back to back to be hilarious. I get that you’re probably just using 20/20 vision to mean you have good eyesight (because at the distance you have a laptop, that’s pretty meaningless) and that the thing about the notch was probably more of a “I don’t notice it in use” statement, but the juxtaposition of great eyesight and not seeing a big black box at the top of your display is pretty funny. Either that or you might need to find a new optometrist ?I also have 20/20 vision.
I don't see the Notch at all.
It's also easier on the palm when holding the Mac like a book. I probably shouldn't do this, but I use the MacBook as a tray to carry my stuff from one meeting room to another. Now this rounded design doesn't cut into my palms anymore. You can lay in bed and the smooth rounding doesn't poke your stomach. The rounded sides on the screen are nice to touch compared to the previous sharp sides.
I think the rounded corners make it feel more organic and... human. If you are hesitant on upgrading because of the new design looking uglier in photos, it doesn't seem this way in person. It feels natural and simpler. I enjoy touching it.
It's just a pity that the new display does not tilt back as much as the previous 16" does, but the difference is not much. On the other hand, the new hinge makes the opening and closing motion much smoother and more satisfying.yea, I sit in bed, bend my knees up and prop the back of Mac against my legs at an angle while the front of Mac digs into my stomach. This gives me comfortable hand placement to type.
I noticed this too in the store. I've not handled any MBPs between 2012-2020, did they also have similar side vents which were sharp?from my limited interaction with it in stores, the side vents seem don’t feel grea when picking up and holding it.
The 2016 I'm using now has no side vents whatsoever. From memory, I don't believe the 2012-2015 ones had them either.I noticed this too in the store. I've not handled any MBPs between 2012-2020, did they also have similar side vents which were sharp?
How do owners who've used these new machines for a week or two find it?

Lucas, whilst I agreed with the previous post about giving your MacBook a little hug, I'm drawing the line at this one ?.Why needs women when you have a MacBook?
Just swap the Macs. She'll assume you are using the same old Mac.Lucas, whilst I agreed with the previous post about giving your MacBook a little hug, I'm drawing the line at this one ?.
Anyway, I've finally stopped my dithering and I have bought a Pro 16" 16GB/1TB. I'm sneaking off to the Apple store tomorrow to collect it. Cannot wait. Even writing this the fans came on, on a 2017 intel 15". Super excited, although as with a fair few folk on here, spending money on tech is never a good subject to discuss with the other half!
Don’t be too sure about that. A woman will always notice increased thickness.Just swap the Macs. She'll assume you are using the same old Mac.
Does your new Mac fit into your old sleeve? Do you notice a difference after all these years?Don’t be too sure about that. A woman will always notice increased thickness.
Don't lie about the size of the display either.Don’t be too sure about that. A woman will always notice increased thickness.
