I think the menu bar is taller than the notch and seems to stick out below it. I wonder how this looks with different wallpapers.

I don't understand why? The menu bar is taller than it currently is on my Mac mini with M1 running macOS Monterey and my older MacBook Pro 13-inch with Touch Bar running macOS Monterey. Why would they make the menu bar extended lower than the camera cutout? Looks horrible. I didn't really like how the menu bar was taller/deeper to begin with but I figured it made sense so it would indeed be flush with the camera cutout. But making it go even lower? Why?

Speaking of notch - they made no mention of face ID, so the only thing it contains is the camera, yet they decided to make it so wide because?
It makes it instantly recognisable as a Mac in amongst the world of PC notebooks. Like the chin on an iMac.

There is a 24-core GPU custom configuration option that is not being mentioned in reports so far:

Apple M1 Pro with 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine (+$200)
Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine (+$400)

For a professional music producer often running +150 tracks in Logic Pro, is it necessary to go for the (ridiculously expensive) M1 Max 16"??
Indecisive whether to go for a M1 Pro 14" with 32GB memory or a fully specced M1 Max 16" with 64GB.

EDIT: Apparently we do get M1 Max with the 14" if you just spec it.

FFS trying to order and their website keeps crashing. I was able to order AirPods but I want the educational pricing for the MacBook Pro.

European prices are a little crazy. 16-inch starts at € 2.749.
Same as in 2019, no? But yes M1 Max will be a stretch, well look at the bright side: the price will be a gatekeeper and thus reduce potential supply issue.

Looks amazing. If people only manage to focus on the notch I feel sorry for them
But that's the thing. It's very distracting. Just look at the real images where Apple hasn't tried to hide it with wallpapers or full screen. It's a big black splotch right in the middle of the menu bar.
