Does it make any sense if Apple wants to announce the new MBP after WWDC 2021 done for the whole week or on the beginning of July? Since it make sense to announce it during summer, before the school period start again. So all the shipments can arrive before Aug/Sept?

Yeah, I confess, I was hoping to replace my dying Windows "Ultrabook" (as it was tagged back then) with a new MacBook Pro as part of our own migration process here. My wife's PC suddenly developed an unrecoverable error that made it impossible to finish 'startup' without wiping everything clean so I moved up the timetable for her and got her a new M1 MacBook Air (thank you Apple Card for the whole 0% financing thing). She's way happier now because she asks for my help to learn how to do new things instead of "Honey, I think it's broken again".

I was ready to order my own but I don't REALLY mind having to wait. (Except, in the back of my head, I keep thinking about splurging on a Mac Mini so that I can start on some of my own Mac migration projects)

I still say that the next Macs to be announced will likely come the end of 2021. Reason: Apple has shelved the M1X SoC and decided to put finishing touches on the A15-derived M2 and M2X SoC's, which will use less power.

Same here. It made this one of the most disappointing WWDCs in quite a while. They have released hardware at past WWDCs so it wasn't unprecedented that they might yesterday. Releasing new hardware in the first half-hour sure would have made that long list of new OS features that no one asked for seem much better ;)

The supply chains are the limiting factor in when products ship this year. Everything from cars to toys is impacted by the chip shortage. So when the supply chain watchers say Fall I am more likely to believe them.
That makes no sense. The guy has been right way more often than being wrong
He may very well be right, or wrong but simply be reporting what he knows, which could still be wrong. Corporations sometimes use the same method as governments use to catch spies.

In this case that is to feed individual departments or persons with disinformation and watch the news cycle and see which versions of the story is making it to the press.

Since no two departments or persons will have the same version of the story they can work out where the leak is coming from.

Some people REALLY bought the rumors that Apple would introduce their next CPU just 7-8 months after releasing the first one, lmao

October/November event it is.
please have a look at previous generations of apple computers. why should there be just m1 devices for a whole generation? as of now a lot of actual pro-users, who purchased high-end-intel models are staying away from the m1 for several reasons. it is not too far fetched to think that in the future entry-level devices, like m1-mbair, and more powerful ones, like an m1x/m2-mbpro could co-exist and that these product categories wouldn't necessarily be updated on the same schedule.

Regardless of when they drop, I think it will have been worth the wait...maybe except for the price. I'm sure Apple is going to want all of our money for these new MBP Pros. Every last stinking dime.

This would be amazing but I'd bet against it pretty heavily. A 20%+ ipc bump or whatever and maybe being based on arm v9 would be nice.

i need to pay off my Apple Card so I can buy one of these when they come out. My 2015 MBP is suffering.
