Seems the new 17" Manuals are up on Apple's support site now to, posted today :D

It even shows you how to replace the Memory and Hard disk... so I guess its ok :)

here is the screenshot, but it still 'ships: Feb. 19th'

I can tell you yours will go out today.

Shipping dates will not be changed. No reason to change a later date to an earlier date; they will just go ahead and use the energy to go ahead and ship your order.

I wouldn't move up shipping dates. Remember, the preference is always to exceed expectations. This is the oldest trick in the book.

Promise later, but deliver early; all the while you knew you would deliver early. I used to be in business. This is a classic.

Mine was ordered on the 11th, if I got it next week that would be a bonus but if it ships the 19th I probably wont get it until the following week.

Shipping Confirmation

Just got the word that mine is shipping today with delivery by the 18th. I should get it before then though. I usually get shipments from Apple within 1 to 2 days. I ordered on the 6th of January.

I can beat it.
I ordered it on the 5th Feb.
Estimated Delivery is the 16th March.

Thats crazy. I ordered on the 4th of Feb and had an Estimated delivery of the 18th. On that same day I received an Email with the 'Revised' ship date of the 19th. You only ordered 1 day after me and are practically waiting an entire month longer

I suppose you picked the Matte?

Also interesting:

"The battery in your MacBook Pro is not user-replaceable. If you think your battery needs to be replaced, contact an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider."

I think they made that pretty clear before the manual became avalible. :p

But I bet it is replaceable if you could obtain a Battery from ifixit or similar. If their Apple Retail Store employees can do it we can.

Of course we can, but we'd void the warranty.

Anyway more funny stuff:

"This computer system is not intended for use in the operation of
nuclear facilities"

hahahahahahahahaha

To all those people who make new threads to ask "how do i clean the screen mommy?" well read the manual

"Cleaning your MacBook Pro screen To clean your MacBook Pro screen, first shut down
your MacBook Pro and unplug the power adapter. Then dampen the included cleaning
cloth with just water and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen."

Oh so Apple sells iKlear but then in its manual says dont use it....

Oh shnaps, super nicin' it!

Apple has announced a price drop for the MacBook Pro
that you recently ordered. We have automatically adjusted
your order to reflect the new lower price.

Looks like they cut the price by like $100+ on the 256GB SSD! Woo!

They have to put that for legal reasons. There are specific govt standards for things that are used in these places (and avionics systems, etc).

Well mine is still waiting to be shipped. I ordered 1/13. I did just get an email from Apple saying there was a price decrease and my account would be updated. It looks like they dropped the price of the SSD. I ordered the 2.93 with the SSD.

Just ordered the stock model ( glossy ) and it estimated shipping 13th March and delivers 17th March.

NStocks

They have ALREADY TAKEN THE MONEY !

That's insane I didn't think they would take it until at least one week, like they have with other people.

oh well..

Where did you get this from? I haven't seen any price reduction on my order. Are you talking about new orders, or pre orders as well? What about those that have theirs being shipped right now? Will they get a discount as well?

Please provide details.

This came as an email from Apple. Mine is a preorder so I assume when I finally do get charged, it will have the updated price of the SSD included.

Looks like all preorder MBPro customers are getting a discount across the board for all add ons and the base model.

I haven't seen mine yet, but it's coming I am sure.

Nice going Apple:)

So is it only the SSD getting discounted, or the whole computer regardless of ordering an SSD or not? Just trying to understand what is discounted or what qualifies for it.
