Do this:
Go to Finder -> Preferences
Then, sidebar.
Then, make sure there are CHECKMARKS (not dashes) on ALL the items listed in 'Devices'.
Please ensure that there's checkmarks, and then try again. It should work just fine..Negative.

Also, post a screenshot of the USB system information page. Apple menu, hold down 'option' and click "System Information".
Go to the USB section. Copy/paste what it shows...

Well, how hard is it to post a few screenshots? We're trying to help/figure out what's going on.. Or, you know, you can just continue being angry and frustrated. Either option works...Yes I'm trolling....you caught me wolfsnap.
I spent 2 hours almost on the phone with support before I uploaded the video. Excuse me if I'm a little taxed with the issue.Well, how hard is it to post a few screenshots? Right, just take your anger out on us, who are obviously responsible for the fact that there are things broken with your new computer..I spent 2 hours almost on the phone with support before I uploaded the video. Excuse me if I'm a little taxed with the issue.
You're obviously here to pick a fight. Started with the troll comment.Right, just take your anger out on us, who are obviously responsible for the fact that there are things broken with your new computer..
Seriously, you may need to go for anger management classes.. Just saying..
Sounds like your thumb drive is toast. Nothing to do with the mac...I also just attempted to format the USB thumb drive in disk utility on my older MBP. Then tried again on the new MBP....no dice.
Tried all the different formats too, GUI, Master Boot, etc.

Yet you can record and post video, and bitch here... but a simple pic is too much.I spent 2 hours almost on the phone with support before I uploaded the video. Excuse me if I'm a little taxed with the issue.
It's funny that you're calling others a troll...Sounds like your thumb drive is toast. Nothing to do with the mac...
It's an Apple dongle I purchased at the Apple Store this morning when I bought the MBP. My Porsche Design External HD works fine with the dongle.Do other usb devices (particularly older ones) work with that dongle?
Is the porsche drive a 3.0 USB drive?
The memorex usb drive you have is 2.0 correct?
