New Phone Dialer Thoughts?

Do you like the new Phone dialer look?

New dialer is awful. The contrast between text/number and background of the old dialer is infinitely easier to read than the white and grey of the new dialer. Lame.
 
Why?

Does anyone know *why* they changed the dialer color?

Is there any functional explanation?

This, I like the dialer but that bar looks terrible and I hate it!
 
I liked the old dial before I opened his thread and saw the side by side.

New all the way.
It seems crisp and less gloomy.
 
I like the white one, the dark one has been around long enough and looks dated. Looks great with the white iPhone :)

Disagree that this is clean, sleek, sexy and elegant. That light blue next to the black does not look good.

In fact, I wouldn't think such a thing was made by Apple. If I didn't know any better, I would guess that dialer were from a 3rd party VOIP app.

I agree. The overall UI seems to be getting inconsistent too!
 
I like the font of the number keys.

I hate the color scheme.

More-so than just the color scheme, I hate the fact that Apple has a schizophrenic design philosophy on iOS. There's no cohesive view of the OS. Certain apps go one way, other ones go another. It's all over the place, and that impacts usability.
 
this so frustrates me with apple; NO CHOICES. how hard is it to give us an option? white keypad, or black?

why can't we customize the GUI at all? i love my macbook, my iPhone...
but i have my own aesthetic, and needs. and apple wants us all to look the same.

blue apple employee shirts for everyone!!! LOL.

am waiting for the jailbreak...
 
IMO doesn't look as good, colours and the numbers are too thin.

Also when you press the keypad button while in a call, it still shows a small version of the old keypad. No consistency...
 
The first time I saw it I absolutely hated it, but when I looked at it on my actual phone I actually like it more then the old one. Same goes with the music app.
 
I find the old dialer easier to read.

They could improve the new dialer by making the numbers more black instead of dark grey - the higher contrast would welcome.
 
Doesn't bother me as I don't use it. Everybody I need to call is already in my contacts.
