Yeah I just don't know if that's the best example since the nano doesn't run iOS. I suppose this could be legit and once we see the real thing on Apple's website it will look better. But as I said it seems kind of pointless to load the colored phones with special wallpaper when most people swap out with their own wallpaper anyway.

You do know that's a sticker right? Apple doesn't ship their iPhones turned on. It's just a sticker of the home screen with a pink background. Of course it wouldn't look as good as the real deal.

iOS7 itself would just have all the solid colour backgrounds added to the existing background library and the user could choose whatever they want.

...Apple has never stopped giving out SIM card removal tool with iPhones. Even white box replacements come with those.

Actually, mine never came with one. Not even my white box replacement. I think they did stop supplying them in the subsidized models. Not too sure about unlocked models. The fact they come with sim tools might be indicative of how you're more likely to be sold off contract than subsidized.

You do have a point right there

Just a wild thought...., perhaps it could be Samsung or there *oo* a** minions, with a smear campaign.
A bit of food for thought here, we can't count out some form of lowly sabotage. That isn't beyond the realm of samsungs "anything goes", tactics. Lets not forget the whining outcry of the antennagate days, for one. I'm sure we could add to that list of trivial outright whining.

Yeah, no. Samsung would rather spend a few million on an ad they'd know millions would see rather than some low res picture that might be viewed at most by a few thousand people. And "antenna gate" was a thing.

Why do these "leaked" images always come in super low res when phones these days are capable of so much more

since Weibo is based in China, I am guessing there are way more feature phones aka dumb phones with VGA resolution than smartphones. Thus, whoever snapped this pic might have used a dumb phone that has VGA resolution. My 2 cents on the issue...

Weight

Have there been any predictions of the weight compared to previous models?

A plastic shell is likely shave of some serious grams. This is the only reason I would consider an upgrade from my trustworthy iPhone4. I don't need any more functionality, don't need a speed bump but a decent jump in the thinner and lighter stakes would be very persuasive.

Ok but I'm assuming the sticker will replicate what the phone looks like when turned on. Which means then these phones would each have a different colored background, and that would be different than the standard background on the 5S. I'm questioning the legitimacy of that.

No doubt it will sell, but for $500, you can get a much better high-end Android phone for that money.

When did Apple announce a price on a phone, that as of right now, doesn't exist?

Wake up! Wake up!! I think you were dream posting! Trust me, no Android user is lusting after the new "S" or "C". If anyone wanted an iOS phone, they'd have gotten it by now. These new models aren't anything to jump ship for.

You obviously dont understand the phone market and distribution.

Many people dont buy an iphone simply because the price. Not all obviously, but many.

how when you have a Nexus 4 for $199 and Nexus 5 pricing will be competitive they won't drop the ball on that

On contract or unlocked?

My 3GS came with a tool, but the 4S did not. There's no cutout or printing on the little 4S envelope like with the 3GS. Both on AT&T, ordered soon after release direct from Apple.

I hope these are completely wrong if they are not they I guess they are really not going to fix some of those hideous icons. The white backgrounds are terrible and look unfinished. :(
