Yeah so the camera hole on the back doesn't line up with the corner rounding.

Also it is too close to the gap.

I beleive this is the design, but this specific thing is just something someone did with their spare time in their metal shop.

So because Tim Cook just says something it's true? All of the other physical designs leaked, including the 3g, 3gs, 4, 4s etc. Remember, we saw 4s parts well in advance but no one paid attention because everyone was waiting for the redesign.

Every time this stuff comes out people say "fake!" but it's almost always true. I would bet decent money this is in fact the next iPhone. Why would Apple radically change the design? That doesn't seem to be how they work anymore. Once they find "the" design, that is pretty much it...

Also the bar thing was different because an actual device got into the hands of someone outside Apple. These are just pictures...are they going to start issuing cease and desist orders to every website out there, while the pictures keep piling up? Not going to happen.

One more thing...I think we will continue to see more leaks from Apple. I would once again bet that the "fear level" has dropped substantially since Jobs died.

I honestly can't remember the last time a product's parts leaked out and it ended up being legit.

1. I really do think its pretty much common sense to believe that when a CEO says his company is going to double up on secrecy, They actually mean they are going to double on secrecy.

2. Other than the 4 being left at a bar(which isnt considered a leak, because it was accidentally left in a bar), we have never had parts leak this bad. I may be wrong, but you are going to have to show me some from the past.

3. Just as many people say "real"

4. No its not!!

5. You place your bets and I'll place mine.

6. Because they want to and their pattern says so.
iPhone 1 iPad 1
iPhone 3G/3GS iPad 2/3
iPhone 4/4S

Of course the next iPad could very well look like the 2 and the 3, but so far, the pattern says the next ipad and the next iphone's designs will change. So where are you getting that thats not how it works "anymore"?!!

7. Ok...the bar thing is a little different, but evidently, you didnt see the Macrumors post where one of these leakers supposedly got a hold of the "leaked" iphone 5 backs. Thats grounds for Apple to get highly upset if it were real.

Now Im not saying I know that these leaks are fakes. Im just saying that Im not going to believe it until I see it. History tells us not to speak too soon when it comes to Apple products, especially iOS devices.

the leaked logicboard of the next-gen iPad with the A5X chip in the end of 2011. It turned out to be true. Quite recently mate!

Almost every parts of the 3rd gen iPad leaked (back case, front panel, screen, logic board...etc), and it turned out to be legitimate.

And then there was this based on all of the part and schematic "leaks" last year.

For the one millionth time, a parts leak as we have seen this year is much more believable than a BS blueprint. The parts that have been leaked are the next iPhone. End of story. Jesus.

the whole "4S" scenario turned out to be well ... the "4S"

We all complain about (including myself) and then launch day we can't wait to get our hands on one ;)

The two horizontal lines on the back are so fugly. I can't believe Apple isn't radically changing the design of the iPhone 5. The Lumina is so sexy, sort of like the iPod mini.

Who knows if it's legit, but I rather like it. The original iPhone had a dual-tone back (silver, matte black). Who cares if it retains some design language of the iPhone 4, a classic design?

Assuming these designs are true, it'll be a different shape, thinner, have a less shatter-able back, a bigger screen, and smaller dock connector. It will also have more logically laid-out FaceTime, rear camera/flash, and headphone jack. Does it really upset you that it retains the stainless steel band? It will be new, beautiful and functional - yet still recognizably an iPhone.

Exactly. Last year's iPhone was only speculated to have a redesign. All photos were renderings and admitted self-made samples. I have a feeling that the people who believed the last year's rumors (based only on renders) were the ones who thought the iPhone 4S would be released at WWDC (people who believe only what they want but ignore fact).

This time we're actually seeing consistent parts across various sources leak. If you're expecting something else this September, you will be disappointed. Same goes for everyone who's saying: "this is ugly, Apple would never design this!" (exact same phrases said when iPhone 4 leaked April 2010).

I think the reason that many people, including myself, refuse to believe that this design is legit is because it sucks. I never thought the 4 was ugly when it first leaked. I loved it but it's over two years later now. We want something different. There are other phones now with amazing designs (One X, Lumia). Apple needs to step it up this time. I expect them to realize that so that's why I assume these leaks are fake...because this would not be much of a step up at all. The screen needs to be significantly bigger. The amount of bezel on the 4/4S looks very outdated now compared to other top smartphones. It is wasted real estate and those leaks show a reduced bezel but not reduced enough. They're not gonna blow away the competition in regards to tech. The Galaxy S3 is a powerhouse. People expect Apple to blow them away with the form factor. A modified 4/4S with a stretched out screen isn't gonna cut it. If this is the design, I'm out...and I don't think I'm the only one. If Apple blows this one, they're going to lose a lot of ground that they will probably never be able to make up. The competition is only getting stronger.

An increase by 0.5cm? I don't see why Apple would change the resolution (and thus fragment iOS somewhat because apps will need to be updated to support the new resolution) just for such a small amount of space. Perhaps 1.25-2.5cm yeah, I could understand that but 0.5cm seems so small.

Baby steps perhaps? Preparation for launching a much changed iPhone which will require apps to support it straight off the bat? Meh who knows.

I suppose Apple could be trolling us too...

iPhone and iOS speculation is hardly ever right.

I would actually argue the opposite. Particularly with iOS. The bulk of the speculation about iOS 6 was right. Once announced, there was very little that was not expected.

There is some BS out there. But, IMO, saying it's hardly ever right is a bit extreme.

I like the design mostly, but I'm not going to believe it's real until Tim Cook comes on stage and shows it off, I can't take getting my hopes up anymore.

This.

K, everyone saying "if it looks like this I'm switching to android" give your head a shake or walk into oncoming traffic.

Yeah I don't know why people don't believe it. Every single iPhone has been leaked ahead of the release date.

thank you!

someone with some sense.

these pictures that are showing a leaked phone are NOT renders, they're REAL physical devices.

we have seen the new iPhone already. get over it.
