What is good for you may not be good for others.

Also, please don't act like Apple doesn't have generational performance issues. Older hardware runs slower, simple as that.

Well It's not to say that the newer hardware doesn't perform faster. But In my opinion It doesn't warrant an upgrade. iOS7 will be supported by the iPad 2 and onwards, so you aren't missing much in terms of features.

Maybe It's because I use the Galaxy Tab, but comparatively my iPad 2 is very fast, and never sluggish.

But as you said, what's good for my may not be for others, so obviously I cannot speak for everyone, just me..

sure it's a crystal ball and not crystal meth lol.

Mark my words, or should I say mark my crystal ball words. I'll get back to you after Septembers Key Note ;)
BTW; My crystal ball also tells me that there will be NO iPhone 5S, but instead Apple will introduce 6th gen. iPhone with much bigger screen, fingerprint sensor, A7 CPU and improved camera.
PS; My crystal ball never lies to me ;)

Wish they did a PR on the iPad Mini retina! I just not interested in the iPad5. It way to big in size.

Speaking for myself and as the owner of an iPad 3rd gen, I'm looking forward to the update. Not just because of the speed bump, but so I can pass on my existing iPad to my parents who will use it instead of an old PC.

"Stamped on the front panel is a part number of 821-1892-02, which matches the format used by Apple on many of its iOS device components."..... and by Sun for that matter.

I know you were quoting MR, and not to nit-pick, but to me it looks like 821-1894-02.....?

They are cheap for a reason. You don't see Audi or BMW dropping their prices because other cheap cars come out do you? They drive and get you from place to place just like Audis and BMW's do. But we all know there is something called the driving experience and the design/make/materials/look of the car. Now apply that here to tablets.

Yup, most of APPLE's products are a premium design, commanding premium prices, that many people are evidently willing to pay.

Mac fanatics should get ride of these 20year old car analogies...

If you open an iPad is full of glue
After a while home button will get choppy
Can have light leakage
Yellow displays...
And the..list goes on

I was all set on a retina iPad Mini...

But now if the iPad adopts its form factor, is lighter, thinner, and as awesome as usual... I don't know what I'll do!

These leaks spoil all the fun and excitement that used to be big part of new Apple products.

For that reason alone Apple should get this thing under control. Tight secrecy can also be very rewarding for the customers and thus very good marketing.

.. and if and when they rarely have a leak, those leaks have more excitement value. Macrumors would be better with few, but juicy, leaks per year; eagerly anticipated and enjoyed.. with lot of buzz.

Now all rumor sites feel more like blogs showcasing electronic components for unfinished products.

I guess I just miss the good old times.. *sigh*

There are quite a few upgrades in the iPad 5 that make it worth it.

It replaces the extremely crappy camera found in the iPad 2. It has a FaceTime HD camera and 1080p video recording.

It will have dual speakers, lightning connector, Siri, retina display, significantly faster, it will gain ALL features of iOS 7 and maybe unannounced features and it will supported 2015/2016.

Like you said, it's just you opinion, but from looking at that list, I believe most people would want to upgrade and that it is definitely worth it!

2 GB of RAM?! Quad CPU?!?! Don't over-do this man! I mean, this is Apple we're talking about... they put in just enough to make it good for use. Not enough to make a good debate over iOS vs. Android.

Makes sense actually. The retina iPad mini will likely sport A6x processor and 1gb ram. The next iPad will likely feature better specs to further differentiate itself. A7x and 2gb ram sound about right.

What he should have done was photoshop Tim Cook in the reflection making it look like Tim took the pic.

When BMW or Audi are made in China like all other cars, you can start with car anologies.

Apple is closer to Bose , with people like Beats trying to rip them off

Interesting you should use Bose as an example, a range of products that I gather real audiophiles (I'm not one) generally consider to be nothing more special than the overpriced result of successful marketing and a stronger than justified public reputation... or was that what you meant

after weeding through the 2 pages of posts about what nationality the guy is in the reflection, i'm surprised no one has actually posed this question, and maybe its just because i repair mobile devices for a living.

why is there 2 pop connectors? there is no LCD that would warrant having 2 connectors. In my experience, there is 1 connector for digitizer, 1 for LCD. This device has 2. Enhanced touch? Doesnt make sense to me that they would divide the digitizer in half and add another connector. not looking at the pic right now ,but it looks like they are different sizes also.

EDIT -

*never mind, im idiot. iPads do have 2 connections to board. Its early, havent had my 2nd coffee yet*

...

So why do you visit macrumors?

Just stick to mainstream media and Apple's own news section & homepage, and you can be just as surprised as ever (and disappointed regarding some missing features)
