Here we go... I'll be cancelling my blue iPhone 12. The colour is awful in my opinion and bears absolutely little resemblance to Apple's renders.
But so, so boring. I am sick of silver on technology items - cars, computers, even aircraft.Ufff. I'm glad I went with silver....always a safe bet
Especially if you are not wearing any clothes. (At least, not inadvertently.Leaking 101: Module 1, Lesson 1 - make sure you don't capture your own reflection in any photos you take.
They did with the iPhone 7, remember? They called it jet black, and it was exactly piano black, super black, super glossy.
The issue is that it was a scratch magnet, where even using it in an Apple case microfiber-lined case would result in the back getting visible swirls. It also sold poorly.
I suspect that's the reason. Same reason you see so many silver/grey cars. The color hides scratches well.
White iPhones are not timeless or modern (can’t be both btw) they are DISCO.
They do not rock at all.
And that is why when you're in doubt, you should wait to see it in person.Wow, I'm really unhappy with the regular iPhone 12 blue colour. Apple's renderings are WAY OFF. Mine arrives on Friday and I really don't want it anymore. Apple renders look navy matt but the hands on shots look like bright blue plastic!
You don't have to go that far in the past. Apple did a better job delivering a black stainless steel-lined phone with the XS. We're also talking different materials, the jet black 7 (how could I forget), was some kind of special coating that didn't even take kindly to pocket lint.

PS. These XS finishes look so classy now in hindsight. Damn.
Yep a bit boring but got tired of gold after six months and black after three months on my other iPhones. Red on my 7 plus was my all time favourite. But so, so boring. I am sick of silver on technology items - cars, computers, even aircraft.
Probably looks good, despite that.
80s were remarkable my friendAll a bit too ’80s for me. Never did like primary colours.
I don't understand why Apple cannot (or will not) deliver a satisfyingly piano black Pro device and instead make these washed out grey-ish variations each year. Be it "space grey" or "graphite" or "Federighi hair" or whatnot, they keep getting lighter instead of darker. I'd just love to have a Darth Vadery black Pro phone, like the space black stainless steel Watch (that they bafflingly killed too except for the Hermes option). I don't think I'm the only one.
As for the 12 phones, they look like Lego bricks.
That red is so disappointing. I’ve been bemoaning the fact that I couldn’t get a (product)RED 12 Pro to match my series 7 Apple Watch, but that doesn’t match the red of the Watch anyway! Here's our lad MKBHD with 12 "red" and blue Pro
Since this is a throwback to the 4 that would have been nice. That phone was midnight black glass.
