I did say it was clutching at straws...
I know. I'm just burning off the remaining straws.

Is this resume bug ever confirmed? I haven't seen it on the GM.US store is showing the lion in the back to school promo where that guy or girl is but the macs underneath still show snow leopard.

would apple really wait an entire week because of the "bug" is resume and have these backgrounds up on the site?

I noticed that to. Some images don't have the 'qlt' and must be probably overwritten by new images.Interestingly, there are two things happening:
a) Apple added qlt=96 as parameter for loading images to display Lion instead of SL (using qlt=95). Not many people would have noticed that, as long as the html-code does not use the qlt=96 parameter to display images yet. Apple might have started this process a while ago.
b) some images are starting to display Lion even with the qlt=95 parameter, e.g. on http://store.apple.com/us/browse/campaigns/back_to_school initially the four model images all had SL images, 10 minutes ago Air&iMac started using Lion images while keeping qlt=95 as parameter, and while I'm typing this post the MBP has switched to Lion too.
Obviously Apple will update the start page last, and start updating the smaller stuff which most people won't notice. Let's assume Apple needs a day for such a process, why did they start a few hours ago if Lion isn't launching this weekend?

SLOOOOOOOW Download of Mini Ninjas!!!
I put password in, it jumped out onto dock, but has had a white loading bar for 15 minutes, does this mean that Lion testing for downloading at Apple is preventing other apps from downloading????

Very doubtful
Wouldn't it be possible to download Lion onto one computer, then go to say a MBP or another iMac and log into my MAS, click on purchases and download it to their computers???
it looks like some pictures are out too now
EDIT: i refreshed about 5 times and its the same so its not a loading error
Looks like they removed the Lion pictures then...

Any image with parameter qlt=96 is now gone - also for non-US sites, which use the same promo images.
Well, we can now assume Apple isn't planning to release Lion in the next hours, otherwise they wouldn't remove the new images from their servers.
But why would they release it this late? I'm still hoping that it comes out today, but I'm doubtful.
It could come out in an hour from now...don't forget, Apple released the iPad 2 5PM PST on a Friday.
