There is a 100% chance that, if the new OS doesn't come out today or tomorrow, it'll be rumored to come out the 16th or 17th.

And then the 18th.

And then the 19th.

And so on...

One of these guesses will be right one day.

Why not just let yourselves be surprised?

One fine July morning/day *boom* there it is. OS X Lion.

So much better than torturing yourselves like this. ;)

Any update as to whether there's been new store materials today? Or is that tomorrow now according to CNET?

New rumor-July 16th?

Sorry, but I'm more inclined to believe Siracusa's thirdhand source than a Chinese site I've never heard of.

July 15th*

But I agree, never heard of this source either.

And for others, I'm not just blowing smoke, I'm citing CNET which cites ANOTHER source which MAY be blowing smoke :)

Just something up for discussion, I have no idea of the credibility of MIC Gadget, and I've never heard of it either, but it does show up in Google suggest if that lends any credence to its popularity, not sure.

This is a rumor site, and I'm posting rumors. It's up for you to decide the rest.

sooner or later

I am in no hurry, it has some cool features but at the end of the day I am using apps more then the OS surfing around from screen to screen.

when it is released, I will let other install and see what they have to say but for now, 10.6.8 is more then suficiant to do my work

  • 10.0: Saturday, March 24, 2001
  • 10.1: Tuesday, September 25, 2001

Tomorrow makes sense as its a friday, and i think the Hardware will be released on tuesday, anyone know if apple has released hardware along with an OS on the same date before?

Looking at the past, Friday is very likely day of the week for 10.7's release.

Mac OS X 10.0: March 24, 2001 (Saturday)
Mac OS X 10.1: September 25, 2001 (Tuesday)
Mac OS X 10.2: August 24, 2002 (Saturday)
Mac OS X 10.3: October 24, 2003 (Friday)
Mac OS X 10.4: April 29, 2005 (Friday)
Mac OS X 10.5: October 26, 2007 (Friday)
Mac OS X 10.6: August 28, 2009 (Friday)

Apple asked developers to submit Lion compliant apps to Mac App Store just this past Monday. When it comes to iOS, there's typically 1.5 to 2 weeks lag between submission date and OS release date. Since Mac App Store is much smaller than iOS's, however, I would say tomorrow has higher probability than next Friday.

This is starting to get funny and frustrating.

The new features of lion would greatly increase my workflow, and being that I have been using SL (and leopard) ever since it first came out. I am ready for something new. Come on Apple, release it.

Well, it would make sense, considering Steve Jobs was rumored to be in Gryffindor during his time at Hogwarts. Obviously, he wants to show support for his house by releasing Lion on the same day as the final film.

I really don't care anymore at this stage. Tired of hearing false rumors so I'm going to just wait until it shows up on the App Store instead of checking MacRumors every ten minutes. Could be another week away, why waste our time believing false rumour.

It looks like all sites are just coming up with new, baseless rumors. Sooner than later one of them will be right but it's like firing a shotgun from the hip. Many rumors have already been false so personally, I wouldn't believe any at the moment.

After you get to the mac homepage, click on the OSX button on the right, it will take you to a page that still has coming in july listed.

argh!!! this is frustrating.... i was hoping lion would be out by now. :(

i am just going to TRY to forget about it. I wish Apple would set a date instead of driving all of us up the wall..unless its there way of trying to drive up customer demand. Which is kinda smart i think.
