If the stylus is so awesome, then how come we're not all using palm pilots and windows xp for tablets? So, you might love the stylus, but Apple doesn't - and it's selling hundreds of millions of devices - I think they have the right idea.

That's pretty weak though when you say if the stylus was so popular why aren't we still using dated technology with a stylus. Um...I'm guessing the technology had something to do with it and I'm sure you haven't had hands on an spen with the Note 3 though huh?

I think that's absolutely true regarding attack ads. And I would say that when the Apple vs PC ads came out, Apple indeed had also lost the battle. I think most of the lights were off at Apple by that time. I remember trying to get developer support for Quicktime around that time and was directed to a call center in Waco, Texas.

Definitely on life-support at that time. What a turnaround for Apple- all thanks to an MP3 player!

Wow.... You really need to check the chronology of events. The Mac vs PC ads ran from 2006 to 2009, long after apples return to prominence and probably the most innovative time in their history (lead up to both iPhone and iPad release).

Because at the time stylus was the only way of interacting with the devices - and most of them were not even pressure sensitive. Those devices were also a lot larger/heavier/thicker than comparable technology today, which is of course a major factor in them not succeeding over time.

People with devices that support proper styluses don't use the stylus all the time of course. For general phone navigation the finger works just as well.

When it comes to handwriting, drawing, making quick notes on photos and stuff like that though, a pressure sensitive stylus is so far ahead of using a finger that it really can not be compared. The closest analogy is probably finger painting vs using a pen.

Styluses can be a great addition to especially large screen phones and tablets. It has to be a part of the ecosystem though and integrated in the device so you have somewhere to put it (on the device) when it is not in use.

Huge Apple fan and love my imac, macbook, Ipad Air, I gotta say those ads were funny and spot on.

The stream was a complete joke and Apple should be ashamed of it. After watching or trying to watch the event I still have no interest in the Iphone and will keep my Galaxy S3. It's big enough and nothing the Iphone 6 revealed was truly exciting or revolutionary contrary to what Apple may think.

I'll still support Apple and am an :apple: fan for life but don't ever see myself getting an Iphone or :apple:Watch.

Apple simply could have decided not to allow streaming. People tend to forget that.

What? And miss out on what is probably the greatest, most successful advertising they will ever be involved in? Streaming a keynote creates buzz and product demand that all the money in the world could not purchase in traditional advertising channels.

It's much more for apples benefit that these streams go well than it is for the tech enthusiast.

Samsung efforts to bash Apple are really tiring

Yes, but the level of butt-hurt in this thread is quite amusing...

as if the stream wasn't bad enough, whenever it did work that stupid chinese woman was blabbering over everything. then they finally got rid of her, and some guy come on doing the same thing but volume was greatly reduced

it completely ruined over 1/3 of the keynote and for many, ruined the experience of watching it live and seeing the iPhone 6 for the first time (presuming you didn't follow the leaks etc)

perhaps Apple needs to change providers next go-around

These ads kill me. I have an iPad, but I also have a Galaxy Note 10.1 that I love. But their ad has the opposite affect than what is likely intended. I see that ad and I look at my Note and think to myself "great product, but this drives me away from wanting to purchase any more of their products."

That's not Apple-Fanboyism coming out - thats just as a consumer looking at it and thinking how ridiculous it is - of all the things to poke fun of - the live streams.

same people criticizing samsung were applauding "i'm a mac" ads that apple was running. how quickly we all forget...remember those?

remember Apple's ads that mocked IBM?

what i've been reading in this thread is typical and flagrant fanboyism at its worst. Samsung touches on the exact problems that people have had, in fact they probably browse MacRumors for ideas for their ads since many of you complain about the same things that Samsung mocks.

Clearly Samsung is feeling it to the point of creating an ad just to mock Apple... good thing (and i hope it stays that way), Apple creates ads that show how their products work and what you can do with it beyond the usual email/phone/social media function.

The best feature about the iPhone 6/6 Plus is that it's not another crapola Samsung or Android device.
