How about a new A-TV with better home hub support and camera support! I'm tired of having to reduce my cameras to 1080 when they're 2k in the native app. I'm still on the trackpad remote hardly ever loose it with my orange cover on it! wish it had better FF & RW backlighting would be nice too.

I don’t have the latest one, but is that one bad too? I thought I had read that it was a massive improvement over the touch pad one.
One being better or worst over the other is highly subjective.

A lot of people like the redesign of the Siri Remote 2, but a lot of people like the first one as well.

I personally was never a fan of the first Siri Remote (as you can find in many of my posts on the forum), but I don't like that the new Siri Remote 2 removed sensors that the first one had. Making the new one unable to play many games that was designed for the Siri Remote 1.

Another remote redesign?
Yeah, there is definitely room for improvements with the Siri Remote 2.

The cost. You can buy two FireStick 4Ks that both come with remotes for the price of just one Siri Remote 2.

Lack of features. The Siri Remote 2 is expensive, but if it had the rumored features like a built-in AirTag, then maybe it could justify the price. Some people like wireless charging.

Removal of Sensors. The Siri Remote 2 had sensors removed, leaving it unable to be used on many apps. Maybe the Siri Remote 3 will bring back these sensors.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing a gaming-centric remote, but I doubt it will happen.

It is very good, of course you get posts from people like above with one post, coming here and pushing a samsung product and the mods allow it even though it is obviously someone trolling for another company

I’m hoping it’s the same as the last one but just with FindMy capability. I’ve been very happy with the latest one.
SWAP THE FRIGGIN MUTE AND PLAY BUTTONS! 🤦‍♂️

FFS, how did they screw it up so badly? Do they not have an actual designer on staff?

The play/pause button needs orientation from the bottom or top landmark buttons before hitting it. It should be the landmark button!

If you thought the first one was bad, the second one actually makes you like the first one.

I actually liked the original design, however, I wish I could ping it with audio so I can find it more quickly when it’s gone #children.

Never had an issue with the new remote. Never had an issue with the old remote either - but I do like the new remote much more. Feels better in the hand.

I love where the mute is. It's something I use frequently and it's in the perfect spot IMO. I also use siri to pause/resume ATV. So I rarely have to touch the remote in that respect.

They just redesigned it, why would the be coming out with a new one this soon?
Apple has done exactly this many, many times. For example every time someone mentions a 2020 MacBook Air everyone assumes they mean the M1 version released in September.

They released an Intel version in March.

Apple does whatever it wants and never acknowledges that they ever did anything else.

Can they make the damn thing bigger so it fits in your hand easier? It's such a pain to pickup without clicking a button.

I would so love them to make a "Pro" remote (or whatever) that's actually shaped for comfort and usability in a human hand. It's ridiculous and annoying that it continues to be this perfect tiny aluminum "thing" that is more optimized for marketing photos than actual usage.

A low cost AppleTV would certainly help grow the platform. But I think it’ll need something more (maybe greater tie-in with Arcade?)

Many have simply bought cheaper Firesticks or Chromecasts instead. Add to that the fact that AppleTV+ is now included in many of the newer smartTVs.
I'd wondered about this. I've been thinking about purchasing an Apple TV 4K, but wondered what advantage if any there would be over using the Apple TV app on my LG TV.

Do you want to relearn how to use and navigate your TV every time you buy a new one?

Do you want to get updates to apps, new apps, and improvements to the OS?

Do you want tight integration with various devices in the Apple ecosystem? (Use phone as remote, have phone prompt for keyboard input, access all your passwords in keychain, etc.)

Using your TV’s OS is like using your internet provider’s email. 🤷‍♂️
