New Sky Blue Color

I likely won't get to see a Sky Blue MBA until sometime in May. I'm in a rural area, and there's no nearby Apple Store, so I'm looking forward to a forthcoming trip to the West Coast so I can amble in and take a close look.

If you receive a Sky Blue MBA - or if you see one - would you post your impressions of the color? The blue iPad looks very nice, but I imagine the MBA finish will have more silver in it.

I have the Sky Blue iPad Air and really thinking about the MacBook Air but my M2 works perfectly. I would also appreciate if someone posted pictures of their Sky Blue Air. It looks absolutely beautiful in the Apple pictures.

I have a Blue M2 iPad Air 13. If this is the same as the Sky Blue for the Macbook Air then it’s nice, but not OMG! knockout.

If I were to get a Macbook Air I’d go with Starlight.

Thanks, Gang! I think I'm going to go ahead and preorder an 'ultimate' M4 ... at least I have the 14-day return window if the color isn't as appealing as your photos.

Appreciate the help.

I have no strong feelings per se about the Sky Blue itself (other than it lends itself better to an iPad or iMac).

But to discontinue the Space Gray (now unavailable on either Air or Pro) is a stupid decision. It was the perfect “Goldilocks” colour for a MacBook of any type.

I’m sure they market test and study these things, but these colours are often muted. I much prefer the blue available on the iPad 10. There was another nice blue on the iPad Air 5, but now the option on the 6 and 7 is this muted Space Blue.
 
If anyone wants to see what this will look like ahead of Wednesday, go have a look at the back of an iPad Air in blue.

It looks pretty much silver when under light and viewing head on, and goes a stronger blue when viewed off axis. It's quite nice actually.

I feel like air being in sky blue will make blue iPads more popular now too..

This looks almost grey in some angles/lighting.

Please post pics of the MBA Sky Blue once you guys get it! Skipping the upgrade cycle this year myself.

Then it’s very much like the Blue on the iPad Air.

The Blue on the previous iPad Air 5 as well as the iPad 10 and 11 are a lot nicer. Samsung has a light blue on their Galaxy Book4 Edge laptop thats similar to the Macbook Air blue, but more distinctly blue—very nice.

A few quick pictures below. I'm pretty happy with how blue it is! I was worried it would be barely noticeable from silver but there is a pretty strong blue tint. In strong light it is less obvious, but in lower-moderate light the blue is pretty noticeable. Pics below compare against the space black MBP - you can get an idea for how far it is from silver from the keyboard/XDR stand behind the laptop in the first pic.

Typing this post on it now - very happy so far. Happy MBA day everyone :)

Yeah agreed, I hope the blue sells well and Apple are encouraged to try a few more colours out. I'd love to see an orange and a pink in this pastel style, would be fun :)

My space black MBP is already giving me jealous looks... hopefully they get on well together :p
