So you mean it isn't as shiny as the normal silver one? Maybe blue ist better for distractions/reflections....?!

For context, he says that the silver is unusable in bright or dim light. :D

If that was the case then obviously Apple and other vendors would not have been selling silver laptops for decades, but you know.

Other people can use silver laptops and will also be able to use sky blue laptops. Even in bright or dim light.

Yes, but only a little, it's not a huge difference. However, keep in mind that conditions were extreme (sharp light directly above the laptop). It may be that that small difference is enough for it to be much better in many less extreme conditions. When compared to the Midnight Blue lying next to it tough, the difference was huge, not even close. MB dampens reflections a lot.

I had to see the blue in person at the Apple Store before I pulled the trigger. I'd agree with what people are saying: it's silver with a blue tint. Ends up being sort of a very icy blue, if that makes sense. The color is very dependent on what kind of light you're in, also.

Sky Blue looks great but very similar to Starlight and Silver in certain lighting.

I find lighter body colors distracting so any variation of black is more pleasant for me. It would have interesting to see a darker shade of blue.

It's so odd how there is no darker gray option. It's just light silver, light silver tinted gold, light silver tinted blue. Midnight is the only viable option for those of us who were into Space Gray and were hoping for a Space Black option.

Finally I saw the new baby Sky Blue (as well as the other MBA/MBP colors), and depends on the lighting it look between ice blue to cold silver, which is okish but still not 100% sold on it. One thing I noticed that I didn’t really liked was the Apple logo on the back which had a silver mirrored color that looked a bit cheap…

As for the other colors, Silver still boring, Starlight is posh but not my cup of tea, Midnight Blue was a finger print magnet and the only one that looked fine was the Space Black, but not interested in MBP. :(

The bottom line, they had to keep Space Grey as a color option.

Interesting to hear your report. I won't be able to go see it before buying (too far away) but just seeing photos and videos I've gone from "Oooh, that might be nifty" to..... not so sure. Most seem to love it; just not sure I would.

I noticed that too, although I had the impression that they are all like that now? I'm still sporting the glowing apple on the lid (2015 machine) but I guess that's gone.

I'm leaning toward Silver, which surprises me, because I'm not a big fan of it. I guess it's least bad (?). Or, even if it is a bit meh, it's not *trying* to be anything so maybe that's why.

I might go for Sky Blue if I could see it and like it, but as mentioned above, that's not going to happen (I know, I could order it and then return it, but .... ugh).

Best would be seeing this color next to the others in person in the shop if possible. If I had to order “blind” I probably would order Silver to be safe.

All the new Apple logo symbols are like that, but each has a different shade depends on the body color, but somehow the baby Sky Blue looked a bit cheaper. And I agree, the old glowing Apple logo was the best.

I saw the sky blue today, imho it’s an awful, washed out blue, glad I got the midnight.
I viewed the sky blue at an Apple store yesterday. It's quite elegant and beautiful. The midnight color is just too dark and drab for me.

Here is Starlight Air M3 and Sky Blue Air M4
