Hey guys, gonna be putting on my spigen GLAS tR tonight.

Can you guys let me know, which is better? Button first then glasTR or glasTR then button?

Thanks.

Gonna fog up my bathroom hell yeah.

Perhaps you've already done it but I recommend the button first then the Glass. Did you already do it? If so, how did it work out?

God, i was scrubbing that **** for over 20 minutes, every swipe let a few dust particles in (ran hot water in the bath tub hinge method).

Used medicine tape because I didn't have painters on me atm. Caused a massive misallignment, I had a swiss army pocket knife on hand, was able to get under one of the edges and use tape to remove it and quickly correctly allign it. The bottom is slightly mis alligned, the top is fine, there is one speck of dust near the front camera but its not worth it for me to try and fix it.

So miss allignment bottom thats slight and only noticable because of the button. Speck of dust near the top, and top left a slight spot where I put the knife under.

Otherwise, awesome.

I have been thinking about getting one of these but every time I read an account of installing it, seems to be a pain in the a$$.

Absolutely LOVE mine on both my 4s (now my spouse's) and my 5. Yeah, a bit difficult to apply respectively, but worth it. After going around with plastic on my screen for years now, the glas.t stands out. It's like going from a 3gs to a 4!

I recently bought one of these and absolutely love the feeling of it - just like touching the glass screen of a naked iPhone! I will NEVER go back to using the plastic type of screen shields now!!

I will agree, however, that the installation IS a little tricky on these as once you let go of the shield, it's difficult to pick it back up so you kinda have to be lucky the very first time.

Don't know if its already been mentioned in this thread (haven't read all of it!) but I saw an installation video on YouTube of someone installing one of these. He basically put a piece of tape along the top edge of the Glass t.R and also one along the bottom edge of the Glass and held the shield, by the tape along the top and bottom (so he basically wasn't touching the Glass itself), and hovered over the iPhone screen, until he had the alignment correct, and then basically lowered it until he landed on the screen.

Seems like this is probably the best way to install these things.

;)

Aligning it is not really so much a problem as getting rid of the dust is the main problem. If you had a dust free environment, you can go ahead and put it on pretty easily, but you gotta wipe/wipe/wipe<repeat> till no dust and QUICKLY put it on...

I swear, if i had a dust free environment, I'd build a tool to put the glass on perfectly (out of wood probably or 3d print out a tool)

Anyone got a link for the removal of the glasTR to clean the underside? I saw a thread here a while ago for that... Might do that eventually... (soonish?)

Even in a steamy bathroom? I've done this many times with screen protectors and rarely do I ever get dust. I use tape to pull up any dust on the screen rather than wiping it.

Aligning it is definitely not too hard. Easier than flexible plastic screen protectors due to its rigidity. The tape method described above is what I do (although I've set one just by hand without too much difficulty).

I think the problem with wiping the screen, to get rid of dust, actually creates more dust in itself as the action of wiping causes a static charge which instantly attracts dust!

Has anyone tried doing a wet install of these - applying a little fine spray of liquid and then laying the Glass on top and then gently pushing the liquid out? Might get rid of the dust particles better this way?

I'd like to know this as well. If it can be used with a wet application, I will probably spring for the $70 and buy one. The idea of a clean sheet of glass on top of my screen, appeals to me.

Has anyone been having issues with scratching and scuffing? I've only had my t.r on since Christmas and it's scuffed everywhere with a deep scratch on the screen area. I am not rough with my phone. It's either been in my coat pocket (felt lined), sweatpants pocket (while I'm at home), jeans pocket (while I'm out) or laying back down on the couch or a table. (and always in a case) Never with keys or anything else. It's basically in a pouch at all times and only cleaned with a microfiber or the occasional tshirt. I'm just wondering if mine didn't get some sort of coating it should have had and might be defective or if the quality went severely downhill since the 4S version. (I used it for about a year and never had any scratches or scuffs.) Thanks for any feedback anyone can provide.

My wife's is showing some scuffing. She carries it in her purse but not with keys. There is an area about 1"x.5" that is like someone took sandpaper across it. I tried to buff it off but it's surely scuffing. Mine has some hairline scratches and I am very OCD about my stuff.

I personally have had no issues at all with scratching on my Glas.tR. I love it and think the rounded edges really add to the experience. My review explains my full thoughts on it if you guys want to check it out. But overall, this is an amazing screen protector. Soon I will compare it to the Bodyguardz Pure.

My pure has 2 hairline scratches on it. Not too noticeable unless from an angle. Luckily it is not on the actual screen area so it wouldn't matter anyway.

Hey I had this screen protector on for awhile, yesterday I bought the incipio ngp case for my iphone 5, everything seem fine until I notice a small bubble at the bottom left corner, I can push it out but there seem to be a small line dust. I'm wondering can I lift the glass up and use scotch tape and take the dust off and lay the glass back on without any problems

Hi
i wanted to ask if this screen protector is removable
can you remove it after you installed it or will it stick like superglue on the iphone 5?
thanks in advance

I LOVE how the spigen glas.tr feels! It gives my phone a much better feel. Buy one with the spigen aluminum home buttons and you have a great combo! I'm set. Now I have this additional peace of mind that my screen is protected.

You can remove it, but it is a pain to remove. It made me actually quite nervous that I would damage the screen or lift the screen itself from the phone casing (not saying it is possible, but it was so stuck on there that I worried about it).

I also wondered whether or not removing it would damage the oleophobic coating. Again, if anyone has any if on how it is applied and whether or not it can be damaged by removing silicone adhesive, let me know.

My guess would be a little heat and/or dental floss in between the TR and the iphone screen might make it easier or protect the phone itself. Just prying it off with your nails seems like a bad idea.

I took mine off because it was scratched and scuffed so bad I couldn't use it anymore (see earlier post) but to remove I simply stuck my fingernail under the top right corner, applied some pressure, and it all came off just as easy as it went on. No damage to the screen and the adhesive is still sticky.

I like the Glas tR, 1st time to try it.

Did you used the "Hinge Method" ?
You have installed it 100% perfect ... i have ordered mine and quite nervous on which is the best way to apply them ...
Few tips will be helpful :)

Is screen protector really worth it? I have never used any screen protector because I don't have that many occasions to scratch my phone screen. I guess people who buy screen protectors mostly for resale value or something. If they want to protect their phones, they would probably buy Otterbox stuff instead.
