Nah. I'm done farting around with it. I'll just buy a SATA II SSD sometime down the road and go that route. I've put enough effort into these two drives and I don't think it's going to work.

Would you be willing to let it go to a new home? I'd like to put it in my aging MacBook :p. Then, put the HD from that into my TiBook.

The 830 is designated for use with the Yosemite public beta set to be released for tomorrow and the small 840 will go back to being an external storage drive. That's what they both were prior to messing around with them today. So, no, I'm going to keep them - but thanks for the offer. :)

P.S. Buying/selling outside of the Marketplace is a no-no.

Not sure it would fit.

In a TiBook? If I remember from a couple of years ago, the caddy is quite large.

Still four AA sized batteries, yet still not everyone likes or uses rechargeable batteries. Also doesn't solve the off desk use and the weak battery door on that model keyboard.

I dropped one, the battery door stayed. Maybe you've just had bad luck? Also, yes, this keyboard isn't for everyone, but for people who use their keyboard like a normal earthling (hehe), its pretty solid.

It's not just me or that one keyboard. They where quickly phased out where I work because they'd pop open when lifted off the desk leaving the batteries to roll around on the desk.

Woah, thats pretty weird.

I placed a bid on and won an Apple PowerMac G5, Dual 1.8 GHz/4GB/OS X10.5.8, 2 HD-75 GB/1TB, Radeon 9800 Pro on eBay today.

I also bought a used 20" Apple Cinema Display to go with it.

This will be my new project/hobby computer to work on or just use. From the description, there probably isn't much it really needs. But maybe I'll look into doing something with SSD's if I can.

It was fun rebuilding the iMac G5 and now I have a new PPC Mac to use! I'm excited for this one too.

I bought one of these(exactly the same) from eBay late last year, paid a lot less for it though, in fact it cost me more to buy a copy of Leopard to put on to it, the case it's in great shape, has a couple of dings in it and one of the handles has a common issue with one edge being bent away from the sides.

I'm not too bothered though as it just sits in the corner of my dining room, no mouse, no keyboard, no monitor, just connected with power and ethernet and act as a server for all my locally stored music (I use Match for iPhone/iPad) and I keep my pictures on it which then get backed up on to a Time Capsule.

I have two HDD's in it (need more storage than a SSD can offer) one that is 1.5Tb that is partitioned into two for the system diles and also for the pictures, archive files etc. The other is a 2Tb disc that is purely for iTunes, I need to space for music and I'm, starting to load my DVD collection on to it too.

Works really well with my other networked machines (Macbook Pro and my wifes Macbook) and I use screen sharing to do admin things on it. The only thing I woul dlike to have with it is some protection from naughty people outside hacking in, but that's what you get for an older unsupported device.

Loads of people complain about how poer hungry and noisy it is but I cannot fault it so far, it has done everythign I want it to, though the file sharing is a bit tricky, keeps showing me folders I don't want to see.

It is noisy in comparison to the iMac on the same desk, but not as bad as the last PC I owned, which I affectionately nick-named, the tornado.
