Just got an Apple watch and my job doesn't allow me to bring my phone in with me. Is there a setting or something I can do to save battery life on the watch while I'm at work, so the watch doesn't constantly search for my iPhone?

Not sure which Series your purchased, but easiest solution might be just airplane mode.

does your work have wifi you can connect to? can you turn off cellular and just use wifi? As long as your phone has previously connected to the same wifi, it should work.

You will have to bring the. Phone in just once to connect to work wifi but if the work wifi has terms and agreement page then it wont work for the watch.
Airplane mode will disconnect any connection and will save battery.

If you have available Wi-Fi, your Apple Watch can connect to that as well. Otherwise, Airplane mode might be your only option.

Otherwise, to help improve battery life in other area's:

Reduce brightness/sound
Turn off haptic
Disable Hey Siri

Keep in mind with a Series 1: no phone or no wifi = no connectivity. Place in Airplane Mode.

Series 3 will give you connectivity provided you have cell reception at work.
