You are right, if you can't be efficient, you can't make money. Until they synchronize mostly the accounting software and make it actually functional, there is no hope. Loved many things about the mac, but if I can't do business on it, it is no use for me to keep it. I took a loss in returning it, quite substantially, but to make it up and running for me to the extent that it would be an efficient machine, I would have to spend an additional $1000. Returning it and buying a VAIO would cost me $400. So it is the better business decision.

Again, thank you all!

I choose MAC because I do a lot of photo editing, and video editing. Above the website stuff. In my 1-2-1 session the guy eventually said that I would need the Adobe programs to do what I'm currently doing (that package is $1600)?! THAT is not what I had planned. I can not get over that.

Unfortunately, he's right. I'm also a Windows user who chose the MAC for it's reputation as a graphics professional's workhouse. However, one year later, I am still editing my photos on my Windows machine in Photoshop and transferring them to my Macbook Pro to use in my online business.

There is no way around spending a ton of cheese if you want full editing capabilities in your Macbook Pro.

You've been using a Mac for a year and never thought that installing Photoshop on your Mac might be a good solution to not having Photoshop installed on your Mac? I'm sorry, I'm having trouble feeling sorry for you.

So you spend money on a Mac (not MAC, for the sake of my sanity:) ), to view photos that you edited on your PC, thus negating the sole purpose of purchasing the MBP? Am I missing something? Also, your last sentence would also prove true on a Windows machine. It isn't like Adobe CS4 suite is pre-installed.

Why not transfer the license over from Win to Mac? I have heard from people on these very forums that you can call Adobe and they will transfer your license over for free.

Not sure if the transfer is free or not. Depends I guess on the version the user has. In my case I went from PS CS to PS CS3 for $150 USD

Our company switched over all our machines to Macs, we bought the needed software including Quickbooks and and CS4. Everything works great, a very short learning curve at the beginning.
Were still on a windows server but that will be replaced eventually with a Mac Mini or X Serve soon.

Obviously a newer version would cost you money..

True. And I did not complain. Very glad I could do that and keep using PS.

Congratulations! The last Windows system in our home is slated for replacement soon. Have a buyer for the Windows system (Gateway GM5623e) so everyone will be happy. :)

Text size for Macbook pro

Text size can be changed by going to finder and view. then go to show view options. This will change icons as well as fonts on desktop. Or you can right click on the desk top and choose view options. Hope this helps

Yeah, isn't that dissappointing?! I really hope to get things on the road, as I specifically wanted a MAC to improve performance, but so far I'm only running into things the MAC can not do, and Windows can. I can't believe it, I'm totally stunned. It is like Windows is running in a field tripping over branches and twisting your ankles in holes, while the MAC is like being in a 4x4 padded room, you can barely move. Text size is my first issue, there are so many more.

I just want to make this work. I'm going through all the tutorials when I can, and I have another session scheduled, because this can't be the truth.
