I second all of the above.Safari is a good Mac browser. Won't open everything, won't display everything. Fast and seldom crashes.
Firefox slow and has a crude display of text. Annoyingly windozey look and feel. Will open pages Safari can't. Gives options in some Google products that Safari doesn't.
I have 'em both in my dock, but mostly use Safari.
This kind of thread always opens up a can of worms.
Personally, I think Safari is pretty, but not powerful enough for my needs.
Instead I use Firefox with a metal theme installed, to give it that 'Apple look'. Firefox is better for me because it is far more compatible than Safari - none of the 'your browser is not supported' errors - which I frequently get with Safari. It also features better RSS handling - especially in the Bookmarks Toolbar. Being able to install useful addons such as 'Adblock' are a huge bonus, as is customising the look of the interface. And knowing that Firefox on a Mac runs just the same as Firefox on a PC is useful in my multiplatform work environment. I also find that there is no real difference in performance between the two browsers, but I prefer the way that Firefox loads slower pages.
Firefox, but I haven't tried a lot of different browsers. .
I was the same until I discovered Inquisitor...over time I now appreciate all the little advantages of Safari, and Firefox seems too slow and Windows-y to me...I've used firefox for as long as I can remember (not saying much...). I have converted many-a-others to use the same. It's worked very well for me on windows, on linux, and also on my mac![]()
But you can also give safari a gander.
I did give it a try and it just didn't taste right to me since I've been so used to FF all these years.
Camino is nice, I use it sometimes because Safari's DivX web player isn't so great...I like Safari the best, but also use Camino a lot. Both are really nice and fast.
