That actually looks quite impressive. I imagine a lighter/thinner full-size iPad will be a big hit.

I'm getting tired of waiting for the perfect Windows 8 tablet, I may get an iPad 5 to tide me over until the next-gen Surface Pro is released. Only if it has 2GB of RAM though, the current browsing experience on iPads is abysmal thanks to the lack of RAM.

There is something satisfyingly simple and beautiful about this design. That's the first feeling that hits.

I have an iPad 3 (the first Retina model) and I'm pretty disappointed. It's sluggish and jerky with latest iOS 6 and in comparing it with an iPad 4 that's in work, they are two different worlds.

I really hate that behaviour from Apple.

If it does indeed turn out that Apple equips the mini with retina, it will be very interesting to watch how these two sell vs one another.

The thinner edges on the iPad mini were possible because you can hold your hand behind and grip both edges.

This won't be possible on a 10" iPad except for massive-handed-people, so losing the edge is going to make this thing hard to hold without having your fingers on the screen.

I assume you mean bezel, and not edges. The edges on the iPad are much thinner than the mini.

Anyway, you barely need part of your thumb on the edge to hold the iPad, you won't be covering any of the screen. I'm hoping the rounded edges and lighter form will make this much nice to hold though. Regardless, you don't have to be able to "grip both edges" to be able to hold it.

Will the current soft cover for the front fit the iPad 5? And how about the Logitech keyboard and built in cover?

I would be all over the 5 if Apple would make the price $399 for 16gb. That avoids some cannibalization with the Mini 2 with retina as well. Now that would give folks something to think about for which to purchase.
