Did you select Next and / or are you already on Next? I get the message and I am on a 2-year contract, on a family plan (not the shared value), and live in Manhattan.

When I select the upgrade via Next I get this message.

I am on a 2 year contract, on family plan as well and was selecting next.

Must not be for everyone.
 
I'm in Brooklyn (11229) and I just tried it on both sites...

Apple.com = Error message
ATT.com = No error message

I get the message with Apple but not with AT&T so I will be preordering with AT&T instead. I just don't want a surprise come 3 AM.

I would be pissssseeddddd!!!!!

I just spoke with an apple chat person, and they said that you cannot if you are new to next, but existing next clients should be able to. Has that been the case here?

I've had the plan for about 6 months. Will it work?

I'm under my parent's plan. I'm eligible for an upgrade on the Next contract.
 
I'm getting the message as well that New York customers can't order online via NEXT on Apple's website. I really don't understand why.
