Here's what I think we'll see this fall:

iPhone 6S

4. A9 system on a chip (SoC) with 2 GB RAM and faster dual-core CPU/GPU.

iPhone 6S+

4. A9 system on a chip (SoC) with 3 GB RAM and faster dual-core CPU/GPU.

Apple will not make 2 versions of the same chip with 2 different RAM sizes as the RAM is integrated in the SoC so we'd be speaking of 2 different SoC's.
I'd say both phones will have 2GB of RAM.

I'd love if they make an exclusive iPhone made with stainless steel and sapphire display. It would look great with my steel Apple Watch and would be a keeper!

I'll go out on a limb and say the 6S will have 1GB of RAM. I remember people thought the 6 would have 2GB of RAM because well, no way could the iPhone get by another year with just 1GB. And here we are with a reload-app happy phone.

I would be surprised if the 6s didn't get 2GB of RAM because we know the 6s will still be available for sale 3 years from now in some markets, maybe even the US/Europe.

I do hope that apple will see that they are throwing away customers by not offering a 4 inch model.

Apple seems to be following the same playbook as other manufacturers.

The last Galaxy S to include a 4" screen was released way back in 2010.

Hell... even budget phones like the Moto G have 4.5" screens.

I'm afraid the 4" ship has sailed. You better get used to it.

But I gotta ask... did people complain this much when other companies stopped offering 4" phones? Seems like it's only Apple people.

Apple customers want 4" to 4.5" screen phones with a premium build and finish and quality with good specs that includes 4GB of RAM, excellent battery life and a stable iOS.

Apple instead goes for a big fat 5.5" screen phone with less PPi , decreased battery life, bendy build, less RAM and an iOS that becomes more unstable by each release.

Just so they can be more like Samsung.

Fantastic.

Ridiculous

My take on this - the upgrade cycle will soon be dead forever. Customers will be buying out contracts, taking on new contracts, or buying the latest models unlocked at full price. Customers won't be able to resist waiting another year to take advantage of all the features and advancements in technologies. They will want to buy in immediately. And this will create incredible demand for Apple to build more iPhones than ever before.

That's why the 5S is still selling well. It is the only phone out there with a 4-inch screen. People do still want small phones.

forget 6s, the iPhone 7 will be a killer (AMOLED, sapphire, bezel-less design, waterproof, wireless charging...)

It will be. Just so long as they don't call it the iPhone 7

Those trying to "hold out" with the 4" screens better get used to the 4.7". The 4" is gone and not coming back. The market has clearly shown that larger screens are now the preference and Apple couldn't be bothered to release a new flagship for a such a small segment of the market.

We do not know that "the 6s will still be available for sale 3 years from now", but I believe it is a remote possibility. Most iPhone models have been discontinued about two years after introduction, so that would be about 17 months from now, with production stopping 15 or 16 months from now. Even if the iPhone 6S will stay in production one year longer than is typical, it would still be out of production 2.5 years from now.

While everyone is complaining about their iPhone's and features about the iPhone's that will come, I'm sitting here with my iPhone 5.. While my only real problem is battery life is not great..

they better release a 4inch phone or shrink the bezels by iPhone 7....some of us are used to that size and there is none other to blame for that than Apple..

lol, most of the iPhones sold in Belgium are full price. I see no one running of to the Apple shop for each model every year. On the contrary, because of the full front price, I still see many 4 & 4s models. People tend to hold on to their phones much longer.
Also some features might be appealing in America but they still haven't entered the European market.

Apple pay in Europe, for example, our market is very diverse and complex.

I think we even see a slowdown in upgrade cycles. Soon our iphones can act as a mac on every screen and there will be less need to upgrade your iphone or your mac computer.

My current space grey 6+ Is my personal best iPhone experience to date. I don't see myself upgrading for a great while as I have no issues with the functionality of these phones. These days the only time I'm motivated to upgrade is when there is a complete design change i.e. Non'S' cycles.

HA! Unless you plan on taking your phone to an Apple Store to pay to have a new battery put in it in another year, the current battery won't hold a charge for more than 5-6 hours of heavy use, which most people do.

iPhones are great when you first get them, but after you've had them for a couple years, the battery isn't wirth sh**! Every iPhone ive had has been that way. Of all the commercials Samsung has put on TV bashing the iPhone, the one they got 100% right is the one showing all the people in the airport and all the iPhone users are huddled around outlets.

Apple needs to stop making the phone smaller. Leave it a bit thicker and put a larger battery in the d@mn thing!

Sales figures show it.

Sales figures show Apple selling tens of millions with the smaller screen, even though they aren't the latest tech. I don't think anyone believes that the smaller one would be their biggest seller, just that it's a significant enough number to justify the product.

And why do you think they don't make these anymore?

Answer: because most consumers want large screen phones.

Or because larger screens are an excuse to keep prices higher. You really think that companies always give in to consumer demand as opposed to trying to force people to buy what they want to sell?

Probably one of the minority but until they redesign the back of the phone I'm going to wait. The protruding lens and ugly antenna lines really puts me off. The iPhone 5/5s was alright but the 4/4s was still the best. And no, I shouldn't have to put a case on to cover it.

Let's see, we're already into May so I have to agree that this is probably a correct guess at the 6S internal specs. Not bad, either.

Yeah I suppose we'll see how it goes. I've had iPhones since the 3G and because I upgrade on non s models I routinely keep my iphones 3 and a half years at the most. After two years of owning any phone should we really expect it to operate like the day we bought it? I mean to be realistic it's a pocket gadget with tech that changes with every passing year. (Desposible)
I said all that to say, it's just not that serious.

I doubt they're ever going to go bezel-less or with wireless charging.

I'm looking at my 6+ and I don't see how they could remove much bezel if you like using Touch ID. :|

Definitely will be selling for 3 years in the US. It's just how the carrier model works here.
