Not enough to make it worth Apple's while, hence my point.

Honestly, if there was serious cash to be made Apple would make one. There isn't so they don't.

There are a large number of people who like smaller phones. Just like there are lots of people who like larger phones. I know plenty of people who bought iPhones, on the basis of them being premium and not massive.

The market will emerge when people start upgrading from iPhone 4S's, 5's and 5S's in larger numbers. A huge proportion of iPhone 6 upgraders are Android users, not existing iPhone users.

Doesn't seem worth the hassle, I'll stick with my 6

It depends...if you are in the US and you are part of the NEXT, JUMP, or other yearly upgrade option, this looks like a great upgrade.

To me just the 12MP Camera, A9 upgrade and Force touch will justify it - if it costs you nothing to upgrade...

Since the 5S they have been sapphire. I never had issues with the prior lens cover.

What kind of wear is that lens cover dealing with?

The 5C has a a sapphire lens cover too.

It won't be a better camera... Extra megapixels won't improve image quality since it will be optically limited anyway and they will add noise in low light unless Apple uses binning.

You don't know that it won't be a better camera. Extra megapixels, a lager image sensor, a better lens with lower aperture, higher ISO capabilities, etc.. are all important factors that can improve image quality and reduce noise.

I hope we'll see improvements in all these areas. With the exception of the iPhone 6's video stabilization and slo-mo, the camera upgrade was pretty weak and many aren't happy with the way it reduces noise. If they're smart this upgrade will be a significant leap forward.

Almost, but you're wrong about one thing as well, there actually is an A8X chip and it's significantly more powerful than the A8.

Well Apple chose to use A8X for the iPad Air 2, but apart from that you're right.

Thank you both!
I did indeed forget that. :)

Obviously, the point stands that:
1)Apple does NOT only upgrade iPhone chips only every other year
2)The "X" series chip is NOT a slight upgrade that is used in the "S" model phones

Honestly... I wonder how op got that into his head? Lol.

Not a fan of this. Every single one of my iPhones without Sapphire on the lens cover has eventually turned to ****. The images come out hazy, they're less sharp and totally screwed up thanks to a wrecked piece of glass covering the lens.. I remember having to buy off the market back replacements for my i4 just to keep the camera shots as clean as possible.

That pic on the left looks more like the result of a dirty lens vs. a scratched lens.

Oh really - why 2 GB RAM? I don't think anyone thinks the iPhone 6 hasn't performed perfectly fine with 1 GB.

I am having tab reloading issues on my iPhone 6 now. And this is only having 2 tabs open and no other apps open. I can't be the only person this is happening to. This may be a 1st world problem, but is totally unacceptable for the latest flagship iPhone.

water resistent would be nice. i loved throwing my sisters Sony in the pool and taking pictures under water without a case. it makes u feel so freeeeeee

count me in. i really miss iOS. the 6S+ will be my next phone.

protruding camera or not. it's not a big deal for me.

Protruding camera has gotta go.

Lenses typically protrude.

If people want to continue seeing better cameras in their phones, many new phones are probably going to look a little more like...cameras.

This may be the first time I Since owning the iphone 3g that I might skip an iPhone generation.

I am completely happy with the speed and all other aspects of my 6. Unless something revolutionary is coming then I won't upgrade.

I'm pretty sure it will be the best iPhone they've ever made according to Phil Schiller.

Protruding camera has gotta go.

Very true indeed, however redundant as most goes right into a case immediately after purchase as did mine for other reasons, protruding camera? What protruding camera.....

My 5 needs a new battery, but it is holding on by the skin of its teeth. Not excited enough about the 6, really, to consider replacing the 5. We'll see.

No 4 inch model, count me out
Sticking to my 5s an extra year then

I'm in a fairly unusual position. I bought a 6 a few months ago, February if I remember correctly. I used it for a couple of weeks and then realized that I HATE phones that are that big. I traded for my wife's 5C and like it a lot. Sure the 6 was more capable but it felt like I was talking into a dinner plate. You wouldn't think less than an inch more would make that much of a difference but it really did, for me at least. On the other hand the iPhone 6's screen wasn't big enough for me to do anything else with. I continued to carry my iPad along for writing, e-mail and such. For me at least it was really the WORST of both worlds.

I figure I'll get at least three years out of the 5C. If at that time Apple is not offering a 4" model I don't know what I'll do.

I'm hoping to now purchase my iPhones, the way I purchase my iPads. Every 3 years.

That was suppose to be the iPhone 6 Plus, but they totally gimped the RAM and I believe it's the cause of a few issues on the 6 Plus and iOS 8.

They better get it right.

Not true. There is a market. Plenty of people would like one.

There's probably still a market for this:

Just not a viable one.
