Big Fat lol to all those fanbois who have preached that 8mp is all you need and all what apple will ever deliver :D

Sadly i will not be upgrading my 6+ for next few years. For me those extra pixels would mean something.

The iPhone 6S Plus BETTER have 2GB RAM. After using the 6 Plus since December it's easily the most annoying thing about the device. It can't keep more than 1 app in memory reliably. Open the camera app, the switch to the previously use app if you don't believe me. It'll restart.

It will. I find the 1 GB RAM a bit annoying when I'm using Safari because the tab refreshing is slow-ish depending on network speed, but apart from that, app reloading is very fast so it's not an issue.

My iPhone 5 didn't reload as much, but when it had to open an app, it took easily 2x as long, so the time gap was worse.

Why can't they make a 4 inch phone the size of the 5s, but add a camera bump like what the Nokia 808 has and just pack in a massive sensor in there? I'd much rather that, keeps it's one handed use but delivers on the camera. Why do we now have to go to big horrible to handle slabs? The 6 doesn't work for me in one hand, the 5s did, either get rid of the bezels or make the phone smaller please!

I don't mind thickness, in fact it can make a phone more comfortable your palm, I just hate the other two dimensions being big.

I'd LOVE a 4 inch phone, in the 6 case style with an A8/A9 processor and an improved camera. Basically anything that is better than the 5S.

Thank you for mentioning this. I thought I was the only one.
After I plug in the cable, I have to go lie down and rest otherwise the effort
wipes me out for the day.

BTW: That is nothing compared to pulling out the cable.

I hate fumbling with the cable in the dark but one benefit charging cable has over a wireless charger is you can use the phone while it's being charged.

If Apple thought there was a market for a 4" iPhone in 2015 then they would make one. There isn't.

I'm sorry. I should have clarrified my statement. What I meant to say was the "S" models usually come with the "X" model chips. If true, this would mark the first "S" model with a next-gen chip.

What are you on about???
The iPhone 4S came with an A5.... the next-gen chip from the A4 in the iPhone 4. Similarly, the iPhone 5S came with an A7 (& M7).... another big next-gen processor step in an "S" model phone.
The X model chips were a briefly developed graphically "souped-up" version of the phone chip, used to power the larger screen on iPad. It ceased existence coming up on three generations ago now. There is no A7X or A8X chip.... and no "X" series chip was ever in an iPhone, "S" model or no...
You are simply COMPLETELY wrong.

Not sure I understand your point. Every "S" model have had their own separate SoC?

4S = A5
5S = A7
6S = most likely A9

I used to upgrade each year, but now I just skip the S model. It will be a Plus next time though.

Force Touch just seems gimmicky to me. I prefer long-press to force touching as force touching requires me to exert more force that i should. Maybe I just need to see more applications using the light side of the force touch, instead of the deep side.

Well Apple chose to use A8X for the iPad Air 2, but apart from that you're right.

Give me a gold iPhone with a black front with a gold ring

White front for the rose gold.

I would have picked the gold 6 if it wasn't for that stupid white front. I had to settle for the gray color, which of course doesn't have the performance boost that the gold one does. Gold, better, faster. :confused:

That is a pretty compelling design...also the same with the silver.
Actually I wish they still had that darker Charcoal color that was available on the iPhone 5. The Space Grey is just a tint darker than the silver.

Sssssssshhh!!!!! Don't let the minions know all tech companies are out of ideas. :eek:

Almost, but you're wrong about one thing as well, there actually is an A8X chip and it's significantly more powerful than the A8.

I'm holding off until Apple adds inductive (or whatever method they come up with) charging to their phones. I'm tired of plugging in a cable all the time.

Why don't you just get a inductive charging case? Most of them aren't that bulky.

1 GB RAM is the perfect size.

Only until Apple formally endorses 2GB RAM and then 2GB will be the new "perfect" size.

Doubts? See 3.5" and 4" iPhones screens- the "perfect" screen sizes. Or try to reconcile 2GB RAM in the iPad as "imperfect".

For all the years I've been here, key "rules" include:
-arguing for whatever Apple is offering now as "perfect" while putting down anything anybody else offers as "stupid", "99.9% don't want", "gimmick", etc
-quickly shift to new "perfect" when Apple rolls out new products that endorses a new "perfect" (even if some of those are the very same "stupid" and "gimmicks" formerly beat down. Example: see NFC bashing even a year ago vs. the calls to refuse to shop at stores that won't let us pay with Apple Pay after Apple embraced NFC)
-as the rumors pile up implying any such shift, passionate arguments against something moderate to "wait & see" and "it's kind of growing on me" which migrate to "I want to try one in the stores" which migrate to "shut up and take my money" as soon as Apple confirms the rumors by officially announcing it.

So per such rules, you are absolutely right: 1GB is "perfect" for iPhone (but not iPad because, let me guess, "that's different") for now... soon to moderate into "wait & see" and then 2GB will be the new "perfect" as soon as Apple rolls it out.

One thing that rarely happens: those who argue passionately for Apple's former "perfect" will not subsequently bash Apple when they roll out something off that "perfect". For example, if 1GB is "perfect" such that you'll make such an argument today, you should be back in barely 4 months when Apple strays off perfection by going with 2GB, griping about the overkill of 2GB. You should fault Apple then because they will be wrong to stray off perfect. But that rarely happens.

Anyone who very publicly and passionately argued for the former "perfect" will either pretend like they never made such arguments or try to spin some variation of "but when I got to try one" and/or "evolving with the times". Rinse. Repeat.

So the same things they predicted for the iPhone 6.

Make enough predictions and you're bound to get something right eventually. :rolleyes:

I don't have that issue at all, even with a dozen or so apps running.
