I love my 2nd gen 4k ATV, but the one feature I want is to be able to tile multiple apps on the screen. Being able to watch on a couple different apps would be awesome.
Apple would probably get a huge bump in Apple Music subscribers if they did this. Easy access to hi-res music would make us audiophiles swoon.Would be nice to support Hi Res audio.
Try moving your phone as far away from the TV speaker as you can.I actually tried to use my AppleTV for a FaceTime call yesterday so everyone here could participate in the conversation. When I put my phone under the TV, the other people on the call said all they could hear was the feedback of their audio going from the TV and being caught by my phone (which was right under the soundbar). I wonder if this is a flaw in AppleTV FaceTimes or did I do something wrong?
I suspect there was no reason to build in obsolescence since most of the income from the device the content it delivers. It's in their interest to deliver a device that can be updated and continue to work as long as possible.Apple TV has to be one of the most rock solid products ever, I bought the version released in 2015 and used it for 9 years. Finally upgraded to the 4K one last year and gave my 2015 one to my parents. Still works flawlessly.
It does 4k and plex, but costs more. 2 out of 3 ain’t badMy Roku is 4k, cost about $80, and connects to a remote PLEX server. Not sure Apple TV does that.
Apple could build the hardware now, to compete with PS5 or Xbox Series X. The two problems are, (1) that would raise the cost for everyone (thus lowering sales) for a feature only a few would use, and (2) the problem isn't the hardware, the problem is attracting AAA game developers to the platform.Put a small amount of energy and effort into making it a legitimate gaming platform.
