I would prefer if they made them sound better, instead of new gimmicks.
And a sport version would be great. Holding better in my ears)

So they can justify the inevitable price increase. Cooks new Apple. Why on earth would you want health monitoring features in airpods? That's what the Apple Watch is for. Spare the health features and stick to other improvements. I fully expect to hear about a new Apple Pencil with "health monitoring features" next year now...
But people keep buying and Apple makes profitSo they can justify the inevitable price increase. Cooks new Apple.
Why not do both ?I would prefer if they made them sound better, instead of new gimmicks.

The mention appears in an article focusing on how wearables are expected to drive rigid-flex PCB market growth in 2019, but the report cites no sources for the AirPods rumor, and only mentions that Tiawan-based printed circuit board makers Zhen Ding Tech and Flexium Interconnect supply components for Apple Watch and AirPods "at the moment."
I have had my Gen 1 AirPods since launch and find them indispensable. The battery life has significantly deteriorated, which is not unexpected given how much use they get. I have been holding off buying a replacement set in the hopes of a Gen 2 refresh. I will hold off a bit longer...
Unless you care about audio qualityAirPods are such a near perfect product so a second gen is an instant buy! I'll be gaff taping that charging light though... yuck.
I'm interested in the "health monitoring features". What could they possibly monitor from your ear? Your ear wax quality?
Same here. I’ve has my AirPods for just under 2 years now, and now I only get 1.5 hours out of them. I’m really hoping I can hold out until they release new ones.
well, maybe something with blood or noise , who cares --- they want to shift to health, well, idc
I'd be a little leery about the prospect of having to spend $150+ every 2 years on disposable headphones.
Airpods is one product which needs no changing at all feature and functionality wise. The health monitoring and water resistance is nice and all... but I really don't want to pay extra for all of that. Just give me increased battery life, and I am a happy camper. After 1.5 years, I still get excellent battery life. And I use them a LOT on a daily basis.
All of Apple's offering are disposable. It's the age of disposable consumer technology.
They don't want you using anything for longer than 3 years and then have the absolute cheek to shove their environmental credentials down the throat of anyone who's stupid enough to listen.
I do agree with you. I mean, how many health tracking wearables do I need? Apple Watch would do just fine for me.
I didn't get them right away, used BeatsX for a year first. EarPods didn't fit me and didn't impress me, BeatsX seemed like a perfect combination of in-ear design and wireless at the time. But yeah, AirPods impressed me right from the unboxing. One of the best Apple products in recent history.
