I agree. I just don't see Apple announcing the new iPhone and the iPad mini (if it exists) in the same launch. Apple likes to have one big thing to push and I just don't see them doing both at the same time. Announcing the mini at the same time as the iPhone would dilute the excitement of the new iPhone and Apple is expecting the new iPhone to be the biggest seller ever. Plus I really think if there was going to be a new iPad mini, we would be seeing more leaks. I predict we'll see the mini introduced in late October just in time for Christmas sales. But I'm not fully convinced yet we will see a mini, as much as I'd like to have one.
That is what I was thinking, though I was leaning toward the mini (if it exists) being released along side the 4th gen iPad. The rumors of the mini are funny to me. I remember all these rumors of the iPhone nano forever ago... Then when the large screen fad started the rumors switched to bigger iPhone screens. So maybe we'll never see a mini and in a few years people will be critisizing the iPad for having a small screen.
