Similarly, the iPod Touch was originally introduced as the "iPod 1,1" and the most recent hardware revision was labeled "iPod2,1". The 2,1 iPod Touch added a speaker, volume controls, microphone support and a much faster processor than the 1st generation model. This new model number can be found in the USBDeviceConfiguration.plist in an unencrypted firmware.

How do you see the changes in the iPod touch first generation update?

I know I'll probably want to buy the new iPhone, but I most likely won't. I just got my 3G a month ago, and I'm completely satisfied. And I've jailbroken it, so copy and paste, MMS (I have Quip, not a jailbroken only, but still a problem with the phone.), video recording, tethering, themes, renaming/removing apps (icons from your screen to make it less cluttered), etc, etc, aren't a problem for me. Also I have the Incase Power Slider case, so the case alone has a 14 hour battery. I've tried quite hard to fix all the quips I had with the iPhone.

Everyone has been talking about offers and upgrades for current iphone owners but I haven't seen any posts regarding new customers.

I am interested in buying an iPhone now but I'm not desperate for one. Does anyone know roughly when the new one will come out and any suggestions if I should wait or just buy a 3G now?
