Next-Generation iPhone to Offer Option of White Front Panel?

I've been wondering about that too, but... if they changed the keys and mice to black, it would make you wonder why the heck the cables are still white, but white cables is an Apple trademark (just check the iPod ads) that I don't think they're willing to let go of. It's a bit odd, I mean the white cables are really just a leftover from Apple's "white era" (2003-2007, approx?) when they had white iMacs and all that.
I think the idea is to make the peripherals sort of "invisible" on your desk, with the computer as a big black/silver monolith and the minimalistic and low-profile mice and keyboards just blending in with the desk. Which is cool if your desk is white or birch, not so "invisible" if your desk is black, mahogany etc.

white is cool because
a) semi transparent colored protective packaging will color it whatever color you want
b) it's the color of r2d2

So white is the new "pink" for girls? Guess you never owned a white iMac or Mac Mini either...
Having owned first gen iPod, I didn't have any issue with white color... I associate it more with clinical instruments or modern clean look than as a girly color! Funny to see how perceptions differ!
I agree with those that said black bezel has the advantage of making the screen more "discreet" when turned off and perhaps making the colors pop out more.
Am wondering if they will one day go "multicolor" as they did for iPod Nano!
The top picture was definitely a girl, but is that her hand holding the phone? Looks kinda like the "man hands" from Seinfeld... is it just jpeg artifacts or is that thumb hairy?

Noooo, not anymore. White cars were a big no-no for the better part of the 90's and early 2000's, but car manufacturers have been working like crazy to make it the new automotive color of choice. All the German car manufacturers have been using primarily white cars in their advertising for 3-4 years now, and it's really taken off. The streets are swamped with new white cars here in Europe. White beamers, white mercs, white Audis... white SUVs, white luxury sedans... and it ain't no women driving them.and a "Small White Car" is even more feminine...

oh i hope this is the case. i have my white 1st gen Nano sitting in front of me and it's a beauty. it's sitting next to the Magic Mouse and they look very similar. this new look of the iPhone in white resembles the Nano and white would just be sweet.
I kinda like it.
If this does come out as a real option, I think that I am going to go with it.

If so, I hope it's a multi colored led that doubles as an indicator for missed calls / received text msgs. I hate having to switch on the screen for that.
The white nano had a chrome back. Big Difference.
I would very surprised if this iPhone gets both a front and back in white.
True, last international auto show I went to was in March of this year and most of the cars on display were white!
How is white a girly color? The iPod was white until the 5th Generation. The iBook G3 (second design) and G4 were white the iMac G4, G5, and original Intel were white. The original MacBook was white. Seriously people, if you think it isn't manly to have white you obviously are not secure in your masculinity. I will be rocking my white iPhone and picking up chicks, thanks Apple
