Next-Generation iPhone to Offer Option of White Front Panel?

I love the white iPhone 3G/3GS, i have one, but a white front seems odd to me and totally against the apple black glass style of the MacBook Pro's and iMacs,
White looks really odd on a screen but makes sense because of the design if you have a white back

Actually for the cases I use (soft silicone) the white back is MUCH better as black darkens and distorts the color of the case where white brings out the true color.
 
Oh wow, if this is true and both the front AND back are white, I'm in! That mockup looks sexy.

As much as I love my white 3G, the black/white combo, while cool, isn't nearly as neat.

(And I'm a guy, so no, white isn't "girly" to me.)
 
If this turns out to be true, I'm definitely getting a white one. I didn't like the half black half white look on the 3G/S, but all-white is a totally different story. :)
 
The one reason I've loved my white iphone...is all the transparent colored cases, pop more on the white than the black.

But, so far...I'm not digging the photoshops of this one in white.
One of everyone's biggest complaints of offering a white and black last time was the white didn't have a white front...and now I see why.

If they offer it like this, I'll be getting black...

Why have any color back if most users will cover it with a case? Why not go transparent or beige?
 
I think I'll go with the white if it comes to pass. I also never understood the previous 'white' model that was black most of the time you were looking at it.

Which is why my white 3GS has nothing on!
I hope they offer a white option again...it differentiates one from the masses, reminds me of my 4G iPod, plus it just screams "come steal me!". Wouldn't have it any other way.

I have a transparent case for my white 3G. Don't use it anymore though. Had the phone for two years without a case most of the time, and the only visible damage is that the silver logo on the back has a lot of microscopic scratches that makes the upper half of the apple a bit less reflective.

Most cases are hideous. I think Apple has realized this and that's part of the reason they're going with this new sturdier construction. Apparently this zirconia stuff used for the ceramic back is very scratch proof. Of course it won't stop people from buying the fugly cases anyway, but it might help a bit. What's the point of designing a sleek, thin phone if it will be hidden inside ugly rubber bricks? I would hate that if I were Steve. I'd let the case manufacturers wait until they have to buy their own iPhone to find out the shape and dimensions.

I think that Apple should charge a premium for the white iPhone, just like there was a premium price to pay for black Apple products a few years ago such as the macbook.

Why should black cost more, but not white? Surely Apple doesn't want to be considered racist. So, for the sake of fairness and equality, this time around, the white should cost more. If people like the white so much, they will pay extra, if not, then they can always get the other one.

People who cover up their electronics in unattractive cases are probably the same type of people who would buy a new sofa and put a plastic covering on it, leaving it on for many years.
 
The (/my) original iPod was white. Got a white iPhone for that reason alone. I think it looks better, and I'm a guy. Prefer white cars over black, too.
 
I've had the original iPhone, 3G in black and now my 3GS in white and Im loving the white :)

I was hoping they would bring out a white version when the new iPhone first leaked.

Also resale value is higher on the white versions of the iPhone. So I will get more money for it when I sell it to buy the 2011 iPhone lol :p Only iPhone I plan on keeping is the first ever one.
 
Black or white?

There are pros and cons to having either a black or a white iPhone. First of all, a black iPhone does help to make the screen look bigger and blends in with the screen, or the black letterboxing found on some movies. Of course you could just double click to get rid of that. Unfortunately black also shows the most scratches and fingerprints, as I found out after buying a black iPod back in the day and owning a black iPhone now. Although the iPhone shows far fewer scratches than the iPod did (improvements in scratch resistance?)

White on the other hand, shows very few scratches, as my 7-year-old iBook G4 looks relatively new. That is until you open the lid and see the stains on the area around the trackpad. I've tried everything to get them out. I just hope Apple is using a glossier white plastic on the new iPhone, as their matte finish white stains easily. I think this is why they changed the interior white plastic on the new MacBooks to the same finish as the outside of the shell.

Anyway, if Apple does come out with a new white iPhone, they should keep the front black and make just the back white. That's what most people will see anyway. I might buy a white one and put a glossy red sticker on the back, so it looks like the flag of Japan. がんばれ日本！
