I need one on my Apple TV first! ...then the Magic Mouse.
I think you were joking, but I'd buy another AppleTV if they released a model with a camera for facetime - just the thing for video chat with relatives, we'd probably end up buying a few of them. Note sure I need an iPod Nano with a camera though ;)

Cool idea! I wonder if it'll trigger more rumours...

"Next iPod nano to have front facing camera?"

"iPod nano to come with FaceTime?"

"Verizon iPod nano on the way?"
funny

Not that I doubt any of this, but from a manufacturing standpoint, even R&D/prototype, the camera has been machined after the anodization. Which leaves this open to being a fake. It's a major process/QA/QC killer to machine, then anodize, then machine again before assembly.

I don't doubt that Apple is/has toyed with a camera on this device, but...pictures tell the tale, especially when they're submitted on April 1st...

Of all the things Apple could bring back from the fifth generation iPod nano, this is what they come up with? How about video playback or a click wheel.

This is the wearable iPod.

Bluetooth would be too clutch. Can you imagine that from this tiny machine?

If it can talk to my iPhone...oh boy!

Imagine, I look to my wrist to see who is calling.

I see I received an e-mail.

I think this product line is eventually going to be absolutely huge; I'm merely curious as to what the necessary feature set will be to propel this change.

Looks more like a prototype of the 6G model they were toying with. I doubt the current iPod nano's design will survive the next round of updates.

I like the current nano, but I think it's overpriced. They should throw Wi-fi and Bluetooth in the next iPod nano revision and make it run regular iOS (home sharing, etc). They could even offer a "Widget Store" for it (weather, calendar, etc) like the old Microsoft Smart Watches.

Maybe it's just a prototype that will not be released.

Blue tooth would be nice and easier to fit in it - it could be used wireless audio-in for some car stereo's and some home A/V receivers.

I would like a AM radio too so I can listen to talk radio.

kill design. its awful. just like the shuffle 3rd gen was. apple trying to force too much in too little a space of time that simply doesn't work. no one wants a touch screen ipod. no one wants little gimmicks. bring back the clickwheel. bring back the camera. bring in gps. bring in bluetooth. DELETE THE SHAPE

You would need to have very dainty hands in order to hold that thing and snap a photo. I have a hard time using my nano with my man paws!

eh. you put one finger on the thing and it covers the whole screen. The only way I see the touch screen staying is a small assortment of apps. PLEASE no iOS on the ipod nano.

Movie playback is impossible in the current lineup. Do something apple

I just want a Nano with more than 16 gig!

Is that so much to ask for?
Seriously!!!!!!!!

They haven't upgraded from that the last few years. If they're adding a camera and more crap, it'll be like the 5th gen compared to 4th. Just the 4th Gen with crap stuck on. So what this'll be the 6th Gen with crap no one needs added to it?
Video playback is something people may want. No one buys one of these for a camera. Is it cheaper for apple to buy in bulk and just add them to devices they aren't needed for than to not or something?

Have they forgotten people want these devices to play audio on?
Shouldn't that be the priority???

I've stuck with my 4th Gen, however when it dies, it just seems there'll be no comparable product to replace it with.

Through the clip

It looks like way too much metal machined away for only the body of the unit. It actually seems to me that they also machined away the clip as well, rather than just relocating it lower to avoid the lens.

Obviously they want to get you to upgrade to the iPod touch. That's why I got the 32 GB touch, although, it's quite funny, my touch only has about 7.1 GB of audio, while I have 4.2 GB of photos and about 5.7 GB of apps.
