I can't see Apple keeping the iPad 2 with 30 pin connector. My guess is full size iPad will be retina only, and mini will have both non-retina and retina. It would be nice if the non-retina mini could drop in price, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't.

Why can't Apple keep the retina to full-sized iPad only for another year?
From business pov, that seems to be the right thing to do. But I think Apple
is feeling the heat from Samsung with their gazillion models of different shapes and sizes. From what I can observe on the streets, on the train,I haven't seen people carrying the full-sized iPad in the last few months or so. Give another year or two, the buyers of full sized iPads will be die hard fans, and the sale will seriously plunge to the level of unprofitability.

i cant wait to see the ipad mini 2, it's definitely gonna crush the new nexus 7 and all the android fans will be like "meh, it's nothing, just wait for the nexus7 3"

i dont care about who supplies the retina display panels, all i care about is that i wanna see a retina ipad mini this year, the christmas time would be awesome to bring it to the market.

I'll say it again, Apple's already lost..

The new Nexus 7, wipes the board in all areas here. Regardless of Retina, since the ppi is too low.

Apple must do something special to keep MY attention with the mini any longer.

If i have to choose beet wen two i would rather have better display (fullHD) and less battery life than other way around.

I don't have baby hands so i can make do with i little thicker pad.

But i will wait for september/october to hear if new ipad mini will have improved display. I would like to stay with Apple at this moment.

I agree to an extent, I would rather have a retina display as well but to a certain limit. If apple can find the right balance between retina screen, thickness of the device and battery the next iPad mini will be a huge success IMO

Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE Apple fan,(bought 1000 shares at $68.72, sold at $704), but we are falling behind in performance. Nexus 7, great screen, QUAD CORE PROCESSOR, 2 GB RAM, Nice Video chip, 4G LTE 32 GB For $349?
Why can't Apple do this with the MINI?
I need a LTE $G Tablet for the business to Keep in our vehicles, hate to go over to the Dark Side, but Im thinking!

one report says that apple could not manage to get much suppliers for the retina display panel the other states that apple has got enough suppliers to bring out a retina ipad mini by the end of the year - i'm confused, which report is true? i really want the new nexus 7 but if apple can bring out the retina ipad mini this year i can wait for it, but i need a trusted report.
