I hope they stagger the release with this one. Don't want to deal with Macbook, iPhone, iPad mini release all at once!

Bigger screen worth an upgrade from my Mini 5. Mini 5 goes to my wife. I actually don't need a new mini but bigger screen is nice. I'd like to add cellular too.

love how Ross young just shut Digitimes up

of course it won’t have miniLED. Plus miniLED is more complex to fully make it work on a smaller screen, it’s more easier for the tech to work on bigger screens
Mini LED is used on wristwatch now!;)

Yesterday, DigiTimes claimed that the upcoming iPad mini will feature a mini-LED display, but now, display analyst Ross Young is going at odds with that report, claiming that while the updated iPad mini continues to be on track for a release this year, it won't feature a mini-LED display.

Young says he "confirmed" with Radiant Opto-Electronics, who DigiTimes claims would provide Apple with the display, that the upcoming iPad mini will not feature a mini-LED display. It's important to note that suppliers are tight-lipped about specific details about their client's work, especially suppliers working for Apple.

Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously stated that an updated iPad mini with a mini-LED display would launch in 2020, but likely due to the global health crisis and delays in production, that failed to materialize. The ‌iPad mini‌ rumor cycle has been rather cloudy, but some claims have pointed to a significant redesign featuring no home button, a Touch ID sensor embedded into the power button, a USB-C port, and a larger display.

Rumors are also conflicting on whether the upcoming iPad mini will feature Apple's current flagship A14 chip, included in the latest iPad Air and iPhone 12, or whether the iPad will use the A15 chip, destined for the upcoming iPhone 13. Rumors have also suggested that a "Pro" model of the iPad mini is also in the works; however, that doesn't seem to be likely.

Was there not a report by the same analyst just last week saying iPad mini WOULD feature mini led display? Lol

im not familiar with smart watches though but then for Apple maybe they need more time for miniLED to be available for iPad Mini in the future. Plus they wouldn’t want the Mini to be too expensive and make its price with MiniLED say… more closer to the Air 4

I won't believe there is a new iPad mini until it actually arrives, if that ever happens. Every, single analyst and leaker has claimed a new iPad mini was coming any day now for TWO YEARS. Its vaporware. Apple doesn't care about the iPad mini, that's why its never seen a redesign and went 4 years between updates. I doubt we see another Mini.

I’m inclined to agree.

Think of what Apple has done with the 12 mini, reports of lacklustre sales pushing Apple to discontinue it after 13 mini this year. I’m curious how much allocation of the 90 million units order from Apple is to the 12/13 mini this year?!

The iPad mini 5 I’m curious what it’s sales numbers were vs the iPhone 12 mini … we all know the ASPs will differ, but units sold is what I’m after. I doubt the demand is as high as the 12 mini and if the ASP is lower (12 mini has amongst the highest in Apple’s lineup save for the Max), I’m very curious to see Apple’s reasoning to make an iPad mini yet cancel the 13 mini after 1 year of production life. Seems like an expensive move to kill it Entirely vs keeping some components and the design/shell and battery size to replace the “SE” design.

Looking forward to a refresh... fav size for the iPad (for me)... even w/o the mini-led still could be a lovely device (actually I do a lot of eBook'n with the mini so not having it burn my eyes out is preferable)...

And my money is on no mini-LED... I've found that in AppleWorld... by taking all the rumors s few months out and picking the most conservative/tame/incremental ones you get to what the device will be...
