Apple broke records in the holiday fiscal quarter with the iPhone 4S launch, and their stock gaped up some 45 dollars. The numbers were staggering, and now with what is supposedly a new iPhone look, you think they are going to go back to summer sales, when Apple absolutely obliterated iPhone sales.

If anything, their holiday fiscal quarter all but guarantees a October/November Launch again....why wouldn't they want to completely dominate holiday sales?

Most likely won't happen. Just because Cricket is selling cheaper doesn't mean anything. Other local carriers has been doing this for quite sometime where they sell the device 50 bucks cheaper.

Once the iOS 6 is announced, it will go into beta for developers for testing, only then when it's ready it will be released along with the next generation iPhone. I cannot imagine Apple would release the iOS 6 just 11 days after the WWDC, and would most likely to have full of bugs.

IMHO...it is likely that the next generation iPhone will be released around Fall.

Cricket deal is NO CONTRACT, UNLOCKED, so people buy from them and a month later switch carrier.
Just one of a few clues, or shall we say coincidences?

There is a lot of competition, iOS 6 will have to be incredible to wait unit that is ready.

What? Do u really think cricket carrying the iphone 4S is a clue to the june launch of iPhone 5? That is the WORST piece of logic I have EVER seen. Actually, it makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever.

Stop it. Please. Save yourself further embarrassment.

I believe you are right, but despite the pattern we've seen, iOS 6 isn't necessarily needed to launch the new iPhone. For all we know, they have a solid build of iOS 5.2 running which supports the new resolution.

you mean october....iphones comes every oct.

really? Cause last time I checked the 4S was the first iPhone that came out around that time period? Could of swore all the others came out around June?

Nonetheless it will be around October when it is released though.

Here's a clue that it won't come out in June/July: iOS 6 beta has not even been released to developers yet. Apple usually has a couple of months with the software in developers hands so that they can fix bugs etc. The keynote isn't until a week on Monday.

Nothing points to the iPhone coming in June, but they may announce iOS 6 at the keynote.

Argh!

The Constant referring of the new iPhone as the iPhone 5, is really starting to bug me, how could it be the iPhone 5! it is the 6th iteration of the iPhone.

In Regards to release date, October. Simple.

At WWDC, you will see New Macbooks, More about Mountain Lion and a whole section on iOS 6. I can't see them adding a new iPhone to that as well.

If the next iPhone is released June 22 as PracticalMac suggests, I'll PayPal him/her the full cost of an unlocked phone, any capacity.

Well, iOS6 better have something to utilize that goofy remote control looking iPhone 5 screen is all I can say. And I'm not talking about another row of boring icons or a nice spot for all that iAd crap.

Can i get in on this? Smallest capacity will be fine.
For sure! Just make another thread that has a definitive launch date for the next iPhone (obviously June 22 is spoken for) as a title, with an OP that gives no backup or source for the date. Then just PM me your PayPal details and I'll send you the money when you're right. :)

My pleasure. I've made this offer before but I've never needed to deliver.

LOL
Probably will win again, as Apple may announce it on the 24th! LOL

Mine is still a long-shot, but based on 4 good indicators, and the very strong growing competition.

I don't think iOS 6 will be a factor, and likely a detriment to do so. New hardware and new OS at same time means more likely something bad will happen. Screw-up in iOS could make hardware look bad, give ammunition to competitors.

Is iOS 6 really going to be a revolution? Apple 3d maps, Facebook everywhere and faux stitching in Mail and Safari? Perhaps the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4T will start with iOS 5.2 or something?

Also, can Apple really go to iOS 6 before one of iOS 5's main features is out of beta? (yes Siri)

Do I think June 22nd is the next iPhones release date? No. Do I believe October is? Not definitively. I believe we saw the iPhone 4S launch so late last year because of the software, not hardware. I had all betas of iOS 5, and the first 7 of 8 were buggy as hell, but it was a major launch, especially with iCloud. I doubt iOS 6 is going to be any where near as major as 5 was. iOS 4 was announced on April 8th and came put June 22nd, a little more than two months. If iOS 6 isn't as major as iOS 5, whose not to say a GM seed won't be sent out in August. I don't think Apple has a release date for the next iPhone set yet, I think they'll see how the beta software goes and see how many can be produced by a certain time.

All that said, I have always said to friends that I believed the 4S only came out in October due to the software not being ready. I can definitely see Apple going back to their early-September event with iPods, the new iPhone and iOS 6 if iOS 6 betas go well.
