Well, I'm not having a hard time waiting for the next generation of iPhone & iOS, as long as I'm happy with what I already have. The only thing concerned me is the battery problem with the 4S, and some software bugs that I always see.

I don't know why people are on rush for the new iPhone, do they have extra $$ to spend ? Don't you have bills to do ? :D.
Seriously, why I should care if I already have a working iPhone?

anyway, Apple scheduled their event for the iPhone 5 presentation in the Fall 2012.

So have a wise thinking guys, and don't waste your time on something doesn't have benefits.

;) Good luck!

No way.

It's not going to be here till at least september! However, I Would like to point out that my birthday is 23 june so if you guys all chip in say a dollar I could get one, lol.

Cheers

My birthday in June 30th :D don't forget your mate guys :p

Clues all around.

It's also almost 2 years since the first iPhone 4 came out, and its look-alike sister is just that, a look alike (sure it sounds better, but sounds don't kill like "looks could kill").

June 22 is a Tuesday too. :p

When do YOU think it will come out?

EDIT:
Forgot to mention.
Why does everyone think it has to have iOS 6?

Edit 2:
I wrote a better post, but mods locked them because ONE of the supporting evidence I used had its own thread, apparently. I could have modified it, but they did not reply.

June 22 is almost exactly 2 years for iPhone 4,

Only problem with this logic: iOS 4 came out in April - giving developers plenty of time to test before the iPhone 4 came out.

We haven't seen iOS6. While it's probable Apple could release the next iPhone on iOS5 - it isn't likely.

Well how are they going to give app developers time to adjust their apps for the new screen size without releasing the iPhone 5 design? I say they announce the new iPhone with iOS 6 but don't officially release it until like July 13 or 20. Plus rumor is iOS6 is already well designed and far into development so maybe it doesn't need as long of a period for testing? None the less an hour and a half won't be enough for ios 6, mountain lion, new macs, a new apple tv (itv), and a new iPhone. Overall because of time restraints they may just talk about ios 6 and mountain lion. :)     :p ;) :D  :( :apple:

Would just like to point out to all the impatient and angry wankers who down voted my last post ( which was all in good fun ) that you can have fun waiting to get your iphone. I guarentee you won't be getting an iphone 5 till at least sep - oct.

Bye:)

"Are you upset with me?"

I too think that a new iPhone will be released this summer. Would I care if it is not released? No. I can always wait. But here are my reasoning:

1) Many people speculate that the "new" iPhone 5 was suppose to be launched last year, but at the last minute the redesign was pulled.

2) They released the iPhone 4S to countries that previously didnt get it on the original date - maybe to drive sales?

3) The 4S was the first iPhone NOT to be released in the summer.

My main question that makes me think it wont be released this summer is the fact that people who bought the 4S this past year, would they be able to get a new upgrade IF the new phone were to be released?

What puzzles me is that if iOS6 is going to be catering for a larger screen, wound't they need to announce a device that could use the extra space?

Is it possible that they release a new iphone with a revised iOS 5 with maybe Siri improvements, extra row of icons and issue iOS6 beta alongside to launch at a later date??

No. Getting an upgrade isn't dependent on the release cycle of the phone. Getting an upgrade is the carrier making sure they get their money back for subsidizing the phone for you. So no matter when the next iPhone is released, people's eligibility dates for upgrades will stay the same.

I thought fall all along, but the "quality" of these leaks seem more 1-2 months out. Also, remember the verizon iphone being released in Feb is one reason a lot of people thought they moved to a fall release last year. For original iphone 4 buyers (like me), fall would be almost 2.5 years...quite a while is this day. My battery life is really falling off a cliff lately.

Not sure if they are gonna announce it in June and start selling it in September or October.

Yeah it makes me feel that way too. But then I remember that the iPhone 4 was lost in a bar march 18th. And that was a fully functioning prototype. It was then released on June 24th, about 3 months and a week later. So basically it doesn't really prove anything. We could easily still be 3-4 months out, especially if Apple is waiting on key parts (like the reduced power LTE chip)

Good point. I think my battery woes are pushing me from rational into the wishful thinking category. I have never had the same cell phone for more then 2 years, I'm now realizing why.

According to ManimumVonMaximus, we want downvoting to keep people from making rude posts in response. Is it working?:)

BTW, I thought your post was fine.

What are your thoughts on the Galaxy S3 poking at apple a little before WWDC, then apple trying to slow down the release into the states?

I think the article I read said something about 9 million pre orders for the S3.

If all that is true then obviously apple is just a teensy, weensy worried about losing a customer base to samsungs new flagship model.

What would you do if you were in apple's shoes?

I would probably show off something spectacular on Monday! That's what.

Be it an impressive presentation of ios6 or a release date for a 6th generation iPhone 6.

What's the release date for the S3 in the states again? June 21? OP, June 22 sounds just...swell.

Jus sayin =)

How do you down vote on the Macrumors mobile site?
The voting system here is useless. Just add this filter to Adblock Plus (if you're not using an ad blocker, why the !#$% not?):
Code:
forums.macrumors.com##SPAN[id*="post_rate_"]
...which results in this:

My apologies for my post and no I was not upset. I was just confused as to why people felt the need to down vote a post that was fine.

Anyway, I also realise that this post will probably get down voted now, I assumed that once a mod saw enough down votes the post would be deleted. Doesn't matter! I don't join any forums so I don't know these things.

Just got off the phone with O2 UK upgrade team.

Advised I should wait until the end of the Month as there will be a Apple announcement. Whether its the new iPhone or IOS is obviously unknown but what is known is that there will be an Announcement by Apple which will change the price of the current iPhone models.
