This so doesn't pass the "sniff test" that I don't want it anywhere near my face. Smells like the rear end of a bull.

Agreed. I'd be pretty surprised if apple starts moving towards gimmicky crap like this as a norm. Leave that stuff for Samsung and amazon lol

I don't think this is the 'marquee feature' if you will. It could be part of the final product, but I don't expect Apple to release something that is solely marketed as a 3D phone...

...then again they did release a phone that featured a voice control "AI type" system that was in beta. So clearly I know nothing.

Skip 3D, I want to see holographic Facetime calls:

You know Apple would do better than the Fire Phone, but seriously Apple ?

3D is dead in TV's What makes you think mobile phones will do better ?

Its all good stuff, but it like water of a ducks back to me...

/quak.

It'll never happen. I can't believe the people who fall for these rumours too. Also, the next iPhone will be the 6s, not the 6.

3d screens are nothing more than a gimmick. I'd think/hope Apple above petty little gimmicks such as that.

3D (a.k.a. stereo imaging) is the ONLY way ahead for Apple

I disagree with the 3D naysayers. I have been a Mac user for over 20 years. I've seen Apple's ups and downs. I think it is crucial for Apple -- and the public -- to find a way to finally embrace 3D, regardless of this rumor.

I currently use an HTC Evo 3D phone, which has an autostereoscopic, glasses-free "3D" display. You can switch the 3D on and off. EVERY SINGLE TIME anyone - strangers, friends, relatives - see the stereo display, they are awestruck, like it's a device from the future. "How can this be? How does this work?"

"3D" has almost become a perjorative term. If you use the term "stereo" instead, you'll be greeted with more respect. I tell people that with 2D, you're missing half the picture.

Anyway, if Apple can expand upon this feature (the viewing angle "sweet spot" area isn't bad -- but what if it was improved?) or at least make it an option on ALL its devices, the sharing of stereo images would be possible. And that is the key to getting universal "stereo" image acceptance. The future is immersive technology, and the first step is stereo imaging.

Really? Another one trying this. It flopped pretty hard multiple times before.
Just like 3d tvs just crazy and not really used.
