So happy I picked up the current air earlier this year. White bezels are terrible. The notch is terrible. Together they would quickly eliminate the new Air from any consideration for me.

At this point I fully believe they would do both. The fact that they actually put a notch in a freakin’ notebook screen means they’ll do pretty much anything. We’re in clown World here people. Everything is on the table. If the next report says the palm areas will be carpeted, I’ll at least consider it a possibility.

I feel if you’re ordering a colorful one you might be more okay with off-white accents but they should at least offer silver and space gray versions with a black keyboard and bezel.

For all the people posting negatives about the "white" bezels, I wonder how many have used the new iMac? I was reluctant when I first heard of the design change, but I find it much easier on the eyes than the big black bezels of my former iMac 27. First off, the bezels are a "soft" off-white, not "polar" white or anything bright like that. If you face a light-colored wall, the bezels tend to blend into the background and disappear. I always felt like I was looking at a picture in a frame with the black bezels. I guess if you want your screen clearly outlined by a border, then black is better. If you want your screen to blend into the background, then off-white is better (unless, of course, you always work against a dark background).

This new Macbook is - clearly - for casual users.

Imagine someone who is fashion-conscious, more likely female, and they want a stylish machine that they can use in coffee shops and open plan office areas.

No one is going to buy this for hardcore video editing sessions.

Sounds like the M2 is just an incremental modest speed bump, and nothing really too major or evolutionary.

Probably similar to the A15 vs. A14. That said, let's see if it gains support for a second external display.

Thankfully, I am more than happy with my current M1 iPad Pro (with MK), that an updated MBA isn’t going to sway me away. I’m not off-put by the potential of a white-ish bezel on the new MBA, as I think it could look great with the right combination of colors. But I like the more industrial-modern look of the iPad Pro’s, and even though it doesn’t get anywhere near the battery life of the latest MBA’s and MBP’s, I can also travel with it and not have to worry about hotspotting from my iPhone, which is big benefit for me.

I’m interested to see anyone defend the notch now like they have been doing the past few days. How the heck are you supposed to ‘hide’ it via software? You can’t exactly black it out can you.

The notch is the worst design decision Apple has ever made since it interferes with software. I’m baffled as to why people go out of their way with their mental gymnastics to outright defend it.
