My company is making notch stickers of all sizes so those who love them can put them on their TVs, Windows, Car Windows, Microwave and Over Windows, any existing Macs without a notch now, etc.

We're also workin on "duo" (top & bottom notch stickers for all of that) and "quad" (notches on all 4 sides). Those spinning love for the notch will hopefully make us rich. Notches for all windows! Notches for all rectangles! ;)
Tell em to create a hairy notch to connect eyebrows, too. ?

“They said they wanted colors but no white bezels. Got it!”

Off-white bezels?? That’s even worse than white. People are going to get crazy over this ?
Somehow people were happy buying laptops from Apple with non-black bezels for... a decade before they switched? I think people will get over it.
If Apple doesn’t want to make the bezels black, then it would better to make it the color of the MBA. So a blue MBA would have blue bezels.
They won't do this for the same reason they didn't make the bezels on the iMacs an intense color.

I don’t expect a notch… why? Because of the white bezels… that in itself will firstly look awful as a notch design and secondly provides enough brand recognition for apple as they are.

These are going to sell like hot cakes.

After working 7 years behind the Genius Bar, I can assure you regular consumers (who are your typical MacBook Air customers) don't care one iota about white bezels/keys... they care about having a pink/orange/blue/green computer.

Expect a notch too. Yet another thing regular consumers don't give a sh*t about.

Couldn't agree more!

Make mine a base model in pink I'll be a happy bunny, and it'll likely last me years and years...

Just leave the Air name. MacBook and MBP is simple.

why change what works? You can add GPU cores (for gaming) and call it a day.

and Give us 16GB RAM to start!

Beautiful device

Sounds like current M1 Air and 13 M1 Pro is a good investment for mac users to survive till Apple get rid of notches and white bezels in 4-5 years again. Buy as long you can!

I got the 24" iMac with light bezels and frankly I forget they're there because I'm looking at what's on the screen instead of fixating on the space around it.

The g-d notch though, intrudes on the screen and looks like it's gonna be pretty hard to ignore, especially on a smaller display. I was just using Numbers and noticed on my M1 Air that the menus reach right to the middle. So, I guess they're going to edit down the menus on apps now? And how will older software react to this? Maybe I'll be wrong, but it seems like it stirs up a bunch of UI **** for basically no good reason other than "people are now offended by a strip of metal/glass along the top of the display."

Another +1 vote for this comment! This is exactly it....as reported (remember these are just rumors people) this machine will be the consumer laptop. Colors of the machine are more important than the color of the bezel to most people.

Remember: if you are reading MacRumors AND commenting, you are immediately in a demographic group that Apple is not targeting with this machine. Buy the 14" Pro, buy a used 13" MBP, something....but realize that you are not the target market for this computer. And in the end, it's still a rumor, lest we forget....

All of a sudden the ability to hide the notch is an appealing "feature" for the MBP's. O.M.G....Imagine this white-ish bezel with a notch! So, would the components be this white-ish color? (they wont) I have a feeling all the defenders of the notch will have a change of heart when it can't be hidden, and its hideousness is actually amplified by this white border, all for the sake of menu pixels YOU CANT USE! ... (they wont, actually, they will double down)

Apparently, they will say make the menu bar the same white or "off white" color and the notch will disappear.

But there will be no hiding the dark "hole punch" camera in that strip of white. Make the menu bar off-white with black polka-dots ever so many pixels so the camera seems to be one of dots? ;)

Maybe it won’t have a notch (the leaker isn’t sure). Or maybe it will also be white, and Apple will use a white background in full-screen mode.

I'm excited for these. Apple had a good 15 year run of black, white, and silver products. It's nice that they're bringing back the colors.

I've been hoping for something like an update of that old 12" Retina MacBook, but with Apple Silicon and a good keyboard this time.
That would be fantastic. Selling what we now call in the Air in two sizes, like a 12 and 14/15, would be perfect. I have a feeling we’ll get a machine about the same size as the current one, though. And that’s a good size, but a tad bigger and heavier than I prefer. The 12” MB had great dimensions.

Photoshop the keyboard of the 14" onto it and make it white.

No, not liking the sounds of this. The wedge shape is the best part about the Air design, IMO of course.

What about the part where they will cost more and NOT replace the old MacBook airs? Apple could do what they do with iPads and iPhones to increase the price on all new models by calling them something else and keeping the old models around as the low price models. They will not make a refresh to the line, add new things to it and keep it at the low price of $900. No way. The only reason the M1 air was kept at the same price was to get more people to adopt an OS that only had a handful of native apps. Now that there are more native apps, Apple is going full steam ahead to do the Mac like it did the iPhones and tablets. Look at how much the real iPad an real iPhone (the ones that get the latest tech) cost. The price is sky high. These models will take them in that direction. I would be shocked if they didn't do this when it seems so obvious.

It's only been 11 years ago since we had a white MacBook...and many loved the look of it.

I was thinking the same thing, I liked the one I had, and then in a year, all the other manufacturers will copy and do white.
