Next MacBook to Include Glass Trackpad, Due in September?

Yeah, I see what you mean. I'd love to get the MacBook before the B2S promotion ends, but I have a feeling that's not happening. We can always hope
Glass trackpad? Wow, that should look nice, after a couple hours of use, full of fingerprints, smudges, and the like...blahhhh....
And more rounded? How round can it get? I assume they mean the edges, etc. so when it's closed it'll look like the air? Please don't go back to that God awful clam shell thing...

for at least 2 months i've been saying september 23rd apple's gonna shake stuff up, no one ever believes me
Not necessarily, last year they updated the macbooks with a week or two left in the free iPod promotion.

this stinks. ( not the features) but the possilble release date. I have been waiting and waiting and now i will have to get the current one which will quickly go out-of-date when this new one comes out with all of these possible great features.
it would certanly be great to have a hole lot of menus and possibilities in the trackpad... but what happens to the hole porpouse of the trackpad then? how would i control the mouse with lots of icons and buttons taking space?

It's never going to happen, but a built in dock for an iPhone (to one side of the trackpad) would be really cool and useful - doubling as an extra input and an extra display area.
I wonder if the glass trackpad is going to have a display as well, that would make sense and explain the need for it being glass.

What's all this Macbook talk?! Aren't the Macbook Pros due to be updated far sooner? I mean, I can remember when the Macbooks got a case redesign! I have a G4 Powerbook that's dying to be replaced, only the stupid thing keeps on going
I also can't understand what's with all the tablet/ touchscreen ideas- not everyone wants a 15" screen permanently covered in fingerprints. Can you imagine the workout you'd get on a device like that? It'd be like conducting an orchestra when all you want to do is check up on the news headlines...

yeahh.. lets hope for August
I really hope that the new Macbook could come out before I have to go back to school which is August 25th. I'm holding out as long as I can. I'm stuck between the decision of an MBA or MB. I would def go for the MB if it changes before I go back to school, otherwise I'm going for the MBA.

The 518 days is the time between the original Mac Pro and the current one. Not only have they upped the Beckton release date to NOT Q4 2009, but I 99.9%-heartedly believe that they won't use Beckton at all, so most likely Gainestown before MacWorld. The next WWDC takes place exactly 518 days after the Penryn update came out, but Apple would have to be very Illuminati to match numbers like that.

What Im interested in is if this applies to MacBook and MacBook Pros. Are they moving to the same case design for all laptops? I think this would be a good thing.

Actually, from a business point of view, that's a terrible idea. Apple doesn't need to start giving away iPod Touch's with a brand new product. In fact, they don't have to give away anything with it, it's going to be selling quite fast. The only bad thing about this release date is Apple missing out on the back to school frenzy (students needing a laptop before the beginning of school). Anyways, looks like I'll have to wait a couple months for my new MacBook
