Initial card verification and followup call to Navy Federal without error or long wait times. Now to go pay for something. :)

Weirdly, NFCU was saying "Later this month" for Apple Pay right up to midnight via Twitter. I wonder why the secrecy of a start date for a launch partner?

Just activated my Navy Fed debit card. Guy said they've been busy all day activating them! That's some good news.

:D I am NOT laughing at you but at the situation. Bet Apple pay comes before Radio.

That is a safe bet! Apple pay has much fewer hurdles to jump than iTunes radio.

Also Europe is loaded with NFC terminals that are actually used.

I expect a complete rollout in Canada and Europe within 18 months.

I have three Barclays cards and only two work:

- Priceline Visa
- Arrival MasterCard

The card that doesn't work, which I use the MOST of any card I own because of the benefits, is:

- Travelocity American Express

COME ON BARCLAYS! MAKE IT WORK WITH AMEX!

Well I got one person after long, long wait. She seemed to know what she was doing, and shortly said you are verified, well it still shows I am not. This is not simply working, yes bugs to be expected but I have other stuff to do today, so the heck with apple pay, got the phone for camera, for me at moment apple pay is a frigging bust...

I confirmed with MasterCard directly (via its PR staff), that "Barclays is aware of the issue and is working to resolve the matter."

I guess this is why some banks don't want to rush to get on board. There is a lot of behind the scenes stuff they need to work out. 1. card artwork; 2. process to verify; 3. call center staff who know about this, etc.

Did you add and VERIFY the UsAirways card? Check in Passbook -- is it still saying "verification required"? Did you have to call Barclays to verify the USAirways MasterCard? Mine is still waiting verification. I called -- but its still not working, it shows this:

Nope, just added and was verified within 30 seconds.

How was it verified? Did you look in Passbook to make sure it is really working? Mine gave a check box as verified at first, but then if you look in Passbook it said call (and it wasn't really active).

I have the basic white Barclaycard. I did have to call for verification. Was on hold for about 5 minutes, must have been a lot of folks doing the same, but the verification popped up on the phone as I talked to the rep, so now it's added as well.

Successfully added USAA Mastercard and BarclayCard iTunes Rewards card, had to call to activate each, USAA had an automated phone system that sent a text message which needed to be entered during the call (minor pain), BarclayCard had to be called which went to a live person that then had to transfer to another live person before finally being activated. Seems like an expensive way for them to handle it, but at least it went quickly. Still no USAA American Express support, wonder if they'll ever add it?

Usaa

I ended up having to call USAA to activate credit and debit cards, but they're activated. Yay! (this is in advance of the 11/7 launch, so they're probably working out the kinks. Just glad to have them added.)

My PNC debit card is now saying "Your issuer does not offer support for this card yet". I have a debit card with one of the optional team logo designs. Others on twitter also reporting their logo cards don't work. Hopefully this is resolved soon or I will opt to stop paying the $10/yr fee and go back to a normal PNC debit card.

Same problem here.

did you always have a "plus" account? I had a regular arrival card until they issued the chip cards and they upgraded me to "plus" at that time without changing my account number. I'm wondering if my number is still somehow coded as a regular arrival card. Will see what happens when my new card with new account number shows up.

always a plus account

My PNC says it needs to verify by phone. I tried calling this morning and was on hold for over 40 mins. It's clear no one there knows how it works yet. I'll give a day or so and see if people figure it out. I haven't tried a payment with it yet as some of you are saying it'll work. Passbook still says it needs to verify so not sure how it's work.

Anyone else have any luck.

Yes! Yes! Yeeeessss!

Added:

PNC Debit Visa
NFCU Flagship Visa Siggy
NFCU cashRewards Visa Siggy
Barclaycard Rewards

All with no issues. Just needed to accept the terms. I will watch and see if I have problems with the PNC card, but so far, all say "ready for Apply Pay"

Forgot USAA Debit (I don't really use it)

Did anyone else notice that PetSmart, which Apple had announced, backed out and isn't listed anymore? Makes sense, because PetSmart doesn't have contactless terminals and I'm sure didn't want to spend the money to get them.

Just hope they can work out a deal with Lloyds, Barclays, Halifax, etc and bring Apple Pay to the UK by the time the iPhone 6S is released.

Is AMEX a separate entity and not associated with a bank? If so, are all AMEX cards able to use Apple Pay?

----------

You are confused.

Apple is never going to have trouble getting credit companies to sign up, because Apple locks in their insane fees.

Apple is having major issues with retail acceptance. So load all the cards you want, you won't be able to use them anywhere.

:apple:

15 cents on $100 is insane to you?
