Just added my Navy Federal Check Card and Credit card. It was almost instant, no additional verification or anything.

With Navy Federal being on board that takes care of most of my cards that I actually use (except the Chase Military Star Mastercard). Now we just need more stores to upgrade their terminals with NFC readers. There's only so much to buy at Walgreens.

I haven't shopped at Walgreens with mine yet - but my Staples store worked the other day, despite a big sticker over the NFC thing and the cashier thinking it didn't!

According to NFCU, it looks like the Cucard is not supported, only the Visa check card. I'll call this evening and get one.

I have the red one and it works. I have a feeling the Cucard might not because it's more like an ATM card... I've had the red one for so long though I can't remember the difference!

MasterCard (with Barclay) having issues?

The "verification required" message on my Barclay issued MasterCard is not going away, even AFTER Barclay said the system shows my card is active.

They blame it on MasterCard. The CSR said to use card. I told him, will not be able to with the "verification required" message (he did not believe me). I even pointed out that it is not showing as an option to add as a "default card" in Apple Pay, because verification is required still. He seemed puzzled and could not help me further.

Anyone else seeing this?

I had to call both U.S. Bank and Barclaycard to finish the process. I do not remember needing to do that for the American Express card.

Time to see more on the merchant side. It's great that more banks / credit cards are taking it, but we need more places to use it.

Yes my Barclay Mastercard is same. They said it was verified for me. But not on the settings and thus cannot choose this (same for my PNC which they said was "OK") so I guess for now this is a bust yet....

Yes, looks like MasterCard issue -- This is what I am seeing and it won't go away (even though they say its activated):

I remember something about the mastercard part of this Barclay card suite being some kind of issue somewhere but not sure what I read now....

Surely if Barclaycard US is now supported, then Barclaycard UK can't be delayed much? :p

Set your region to US in your iPhone settings and you will be able to add your card to apple pay + use it, look it up... people from all around the world are already using apple pay if the bank is supported.

Yay for USAA!

As more and more financial institutions support it, and as Apple pushes it, Apple Pay seems very likely to be very successful - and to relegate poor options like CurrentC to the trash bin of history.

You are confused.

Apple is never going to have trouble getting credit companies to sign up, because Apple locks in their insane fees.

Apple is having major issues with retail acceptance. So load all the cards you want, you won't be able to use them anywhere.

I tried that with my UK issued Amex with no luck. So it'd be interesting if a UK issued Barclaycard worked.

Americans seem to get the name of the bank wrong. It's Barclays not Barclay although their cards are branded Barclaycard.

Does MBNA still exist as a separate card brand in the US? I have a number of MBNA Europe issued cards and I wonder if they're backing Apple Pay.

No a week or two ago that somehow Visa part was ready but Mastercard might be issue, not sure why either...

Barclay says it should work and mastercard is telling them bogus stuff. Like even though it says need verification, try to pay with it and it will work. That can't be accurate.

Added my Barclaycard to Apple Pay in 30 seconds...then was prompted to call a number to verify before it could be activated. It took over 30m on hold and 3 different people. Twice I was transferred to an "Apple Pay" specialist even though it was painfully obvious they were not aware of what I needed. The third one was a manager and it took her 2 minutes to get me verified and on my way.

Download the Mastercard Nearby app.... they have a list of business that have NFC under Contactless.
