Has anyone put cyanogen mod on their nexus? 10.1 nightlies are out. Why would I use that ROM over stock Android 4.2? It has been a while since I used any custom ROM or cyanogen.
You can if you root and flash a custom ROM
Same thing with iOS really. Some things you can't really change unless you're willing to hack the system.

One of the things I love about Android phones is the haptic feedback, especially on the keyboard. It was great on my S3 but I just decided to turn off haptic feedback for the keyboard on my Nexus 4 because the vibration feels different and weird compared to on the S3.
Anyone else dislike the haptic feedback vibration on the Nexus 4 or is it just me?![]()
I was wrong. Thanks.

Wait, so you cannot center the clock? I had trouble trying to.
Juiceman, are you on a ROM?
I always turn off haptic feedback. It's such an unnecessary feature which I think is a relic from the past, when the software keyboards weren't good enough so it needed to emulate some sort of feedback.
I can thumb away like mad with Swiftkey and it gets it all right. It's a beautiful thing.![]()

Been off since day one!
I gave it a very quick try for like 10 minutes then went back to AOKP which IMO is the best so far in terms of stability + customization. CM10.1 is probably more stable but lacks a lot of customizations that's in AOKP and Xylon.
I'll probably give it another try in a week and see where they're at. I used CM10 for a long time on my GS3 and I loved it so I have no doubt CM10.1 on the Nexus 4 will progress into something great.
Why would you use them over stock, well you get more features and the devs are constantly trying to improve things and you get more frequent updates (nightlies in CM10.1's case) and for people like me which are flashaholics that's niceThe question is why wouldn't you run it instead of stock. Just perform a nandroid of your stock setup so if anything goes wrong or you don't like it then you can easily go back. It's also a good idea to keep a copy of the backup on your computer just in case but I've never had any issues where the phone was completely wiped.
I actually thought most people kept it on. I guess maybe I was wrong.
Well it doesn't feel as weird as I thought it would with it turned off for the keyboard but I still have it on for the nav bar.
Thanks!
It's been off on the nav keys too. I just hate it lol
No problem. I'm thinking of starting a thread for Nexus 4 users who are rooted. what do you think?
Anyway, if you're willing to root and flash custom ROMs then you might as well try them all IMOas long as you do a Titanium backup of your apps you can then restore all your user app data to whichever ROM you flash. Switching between ROMs is pretty easy because of that.
Do you hate it in general or just the vibration on the Nexus 4? Because I really liked it for both the keyboard and capacitive buttons on my GS3.

I say start one. It would be good to get a collection of all the things you can do when you root. I still don't know if I feel like putting the effort in to root. I know it's not that hard but still lol
And I don't like haptic in general. I've turned it off on any phone that has it.
I like the idea!

Jesus christ google doesnt send a invoice/reciept when they ship these things ? My package is on hold due to no commercial invoice.
It's located in the package, not sealed outside in its own compartment
Chomp.![]()
Can it do group texting? If so how well does it work compared to the iPhone?
December calendar or it didn't happen.
Excuse my possible dumb question, but from where did you get the wallpaper ? is it a stock one or a live wallpaper
I'm a newb to Android lol
