Will the Hangouts apps store my SMS messages "in the cloud". Not sure if I want that happening. I text a lot. I also didn't really appreciate it when Google+ took it upon itself to automatically upload my photo library a while back either.

It shouldn't have done that. It asked me if I wanted to do that but I immediately made my gallery offline just for that reason. That, and I really hated the G+ and Picasa albums in my Gallery app. Drove me nuts.

Im pretty disappointed Google didnt add Chromecast support baked in for the gallery, screen mirroring or whatever

Slimport, Miracast are available, and from what I have read Google will be pushing airplay mirroring, they are just working out the broadcaster deals first.

Pandora just showed up on Chromecast, so add another channel. Slow and steady.

Stupid question, but is some of that 4.96" screen being taken up by the Back / Home / Fwd soft buttons? Do they ever disappear when doing things like browsing the web, viewing photos, etc?

I'm used to many of the current-gen Android phones having these soft buttons "invisibly" tucked down, off-screen and only appearing when needed.

Many of us that use custom ROM's have had this feature for a while. The API for the transparent Navigation and status bars will allow each dev to make their app allow for it or not (according to Gina Trapani on TWiG podcast). The ROM I use allows for it, unless an app overrides the code to turn the bars black. See my pics below on my N4 (transparent on left and then in the new G+ Photo's app, it goes black).

Yes, you can buy a Nexus 5 from Google Play and activate it on Sprint

http://www.androidcentral.com/yes-you-can-buy-nexus-5-google-play-and-activate-it-sprint

Exactly. Same phone works on T-Mob, Sprint and ATT. In fact, it should work on Verizon, but you would have to use a sim from another device, like a Chrome Pixel to get it to work, since Verizon won't activate a new one. (Much like they are doing with the Nexus 7 LTE version).

Specs:
2G/3G/4G LTE

North America:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41

Rest of World:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

I've read that the answer is yes aside from an LTE limitation. The device will only work on Verizon Lte band 4. Band 13 is not supported by nexus 5

I don't comprehend why it would work on Verizon's 3g in the past non Verizon phones had to be "flashed" to Verizon. But these guys are saying it'll work with evdo which I believe is big reds 3g

Interesting. What's LTE Band 4? Is that... not as good as Band 13 or something? Slower?

Is that the HSPA equivalent?

I believe they use both maybe different bands in different areas. I believe its strictly regarding LTE. I dont think Verizon has hspa equivalent(they were much faster to roll LTE and pretty much have it everywhere) but were getting over my head here.

Also I need confirmation on one thing. Does the Nexus 5 have Notification LED?
I know everyone doesnt have the Nexus 5 yet but I would like to know if it does have it when somebody gets it :)

Yes. Center bottom. It's discrete, but it's there.

An homage to the first Nexus One:

Also do you use iTunes or something else when it comes to music

Just got an email from Google...

It was my shipping notification! Black 32gb version. I opted for 2 day shipping. Could I see it Saturday? Probably not. Likely Monday.

Just went on Amazon and ordered some screen protectors.

Spigen has their 3x Crystal (NOT ULTRA CRYSTAL) screen protectors for $4.01 + $4.98 shipping. But when I go to check out, the shipping costs gets removed so it only comes out to $4.01 +tax.

If you're looking for some cheap screen protectors, this probably won't be around long.
