Hey guys, I made an impression/Review of the Nexus 5. I know it's not too detailed. However I would love some feedback! Before you tear it apart, I have just started editing and making videos so that is why it is not so great. Looking forward to hearing guys!

Cool vid......I would say be more creative and ditch the candy (must of seen a couple of vids with them In it)....stand out and try to come up with more to discuss about the device then the usual. Good vid though ;)

Thanks man! Yeah, I have been trying to write up some ways to be a little different then everyone else! I do appreciate your feedback!

One thing I would do is make sure everything you say is correct. You mentioned two speakers on the bottom when one is a speaker and the other is a mic unless I am incorrect. It seems like a small thing but in order to be credible you have to be correct on everything.

And if I'm wrong on the speaker wouldn't that be ironic?

I've had my Nexus 5 since day one. Flashed franco kernel last night. After a full day of use, I have noticed no difference. Who knows, maybe it takes some time for franco kernel to kick in.

The speaker issue turns out to be related to leftover glue. Theres a post on xda about it. Hopefully later units in production will not have this issue. It doesn't affect all units.

That's more just speculation. In actuality, the speaker is very loud in some things, and low in others (like Google Now). It seems to be a software issue, which Google has apparently stated they would fix.

I thought it was a pretty solid review. I kept getting distracted by the reflection in the screen though. I assume that is why most reviews are sitting down with the phone slightly in front of them.

That doesn't make any sense. The speaker works fine with some apps and not with others, why would glue matter? Listen to a track on youtube and listen to the exact same song through Google Music and the sound and quality are night and day different.

agreed, that would make zero sense.

The N5 is just as fluid if not more fluid than the iPhone. The thing flies.

The camera is as fast as the iPhone? Every last review has said the opposite, focus is very slow, sometimes even two or three seconds. Looks like you probably quoted the wrong post.

Found out today that Google has been building a new camera app from the ground up, but was not completed in time for the KitKat release on the N5.

Good news although we'll still have to wait and see how much of an improvement it is.

he is not talking about the camera when he says fluid.

Hmm that sounds like a software issue then which is even easier for google to fix. Expect the next OTA update to take care of it.

Anyone using Nova Prime able to get the unread count badge to work with the stock email app?

I have been able to get an unread count badge working on k9. It is also a far superior email client that the piece of crap stock email client that doesn't even support push.

Might be using different audio codecs. Bitrates could be low on one and high on the other. YouTube may utilize software to decode while Google Music may use hardware. There are lots of reasons why the sound from one is better than another, and if glue partially obscures the speaker, that could dampen the sound even further.

Just spitballing here.

Been using my Nexus 5 and comparing it to my Galaxy S4, S3, LG Optimus G Pro and Note 2 and I have to say it has the best camera of all of them. The photos coming out of this Nexus 5 are crystal clear, totally focused every time. Don't know what all the fuss is about the camera but mine is absolutely stunning.

The issue isn't in the quality of pics (low light maybe), but in how long it takes to take the pic

Street photography? Worthless
Sports/Action shots? Worthless
Kids and Pets? Worthless
Candid moments? Worthless
Flowers? STUNNING
Rocks? STUNNING

oh, and the dynamic range leave a lot to be desired as well.

Can you post some shots. I find this very hard to believe but I haven't used a Nexus 5.

Here are some sample shots I took. Never takes a blurry shot.
