as someone else mentioned...the action shots is where it struggles. Everything else looks really good

I don't disagree that maybe a moving target is hard to get a nice picture of but lets be honest what camera phone does do that well. I can't speak for the iphone but every other phone I have and I have many, can't take a clear photo of a still object much less a moving one. I find the 13mp sensor in the Galaxy S4, Note 3 and LG Optimus G Pro absolutely horrible when it comes to sharpness and clarity. Every photo I take with those phones comes out blurry. The Nexus 5 on the other hand takes them crystal clear. I have had success with moving targets as well.

I agree with most of that. The iPhone 5 and later take surprisingly clear action shots.

I had the 5s shortly (returned it) but from my brief testing it looked like the camera is probably the best on any smartphone out today. I would say the Nexus 5 comes in second.

One of my primary concerns was syncing of my iTunes library, since I'm always listening to music at work.

But I have to say, using iSyncr and PowerAmp with some modified EQ the N5 sounds bloody glorious. Using UE TripleFi 10's and its pretty much perfect.

Miles ahead of the N4.

Are you enjoying KitKat? Is it really smooth isn't it?

Yes - I agree.

I do like KitKat. Still wish Android would standardize icon resolutions and sizes....really messes with the overall look. I know I could use Nova Prime - but having Google Now as the left swipe screen is really nice and I'd rather leave it stock.

from what I understand, that still works with nova

Yeah they still have work to do, but it sure is a step in the right direction.

So I bought the iPad mini earlier this week. I really love the size, and the screen is awesome. I know this is a bit off topic, but I still see hiccups in iOS 7. Even on my rmini. I find the usual stuff with Chrome being a bit slow to scroll, but over all KitKat just seems more smooth to me. I feel like there is no better hardware than the new line of iPads, so if they are still choppy in places I feel like it is iOS not the hardware (well expect the fact they only have 1 GB of ram).

Don't get me wrong I still love my Rmini, but at this point KitKat just seems a bit more smooth all around.

You on 7.0.4? I haven't experienced hardly ANY issues after the latest update. Seems to have ironed out most of the bugs for me.

Hardware wise you are correct - the iPhone 5s and rMini are both more powerful than the Nexus 5. Again though, I would say - from a software standpoint - Apple did a heck of a lot more with iOS 7 (the move to 64 bit is a big culprit in stutters and memory management) than Google did with 4.4.

A bigger update will have more issues. I'd guess that by 7.1 though, things will be near perfect as far as stock apps go. Its really up to devs to upgrade apps to true 64 bit compatibility.

Yeah I am on 7.0.4. Maybe 7.1 will be a big step, and we will see some things smooth out. I agree iOS 7 was a bigger jump than 4.3 to 4.4. It is just not like Apple to put out a software update like this. Maybe 7.1 will turn everything around, but for now KitKat just seems to be smoother, and for me a better OS all around. I still love the Rmini, and will no doubt being keeping it for a long time (still have an iPad 2 which was my tablet before the rmini). Just hope Apple does some more polishing.

Well, since iOS 1 we haven't had such a major overhaul from Apple. People were clamoring for change before. Funny how now they got it, those same people are complaining about it (not you - just in general).

Given their history, I'm fully confident all bugs will be ironed out. As I said, I've already seen most of the ones I was experiencing disappear in 7.0.4. It's a very stable/smooth experience for me on both my iPhone 5s and iPad rMini

Yeah I agree. Nothing That will keep me away from iOS for sure. Android just seems to have gotten their act together with the N5 and KitKat. I am sure the same will be said for iOS. I just don't think I am getting everything the Rmini can do right now. Has more power than iOS to push out right now.

That all depends on what your uses are. But yes, both platforms have matured and are excellent options based on preferences.
