I'm hoping that when I go to Dublin for my christmas shopping at the end of this month they may at least be offering them from their Google shop at the Google complex.
aside from myself and the ones I sell, I have never seen another nexus in person.

Believe it or not, I see NExus 4's a lot in NYC subways. I always give an internal mental nod to the person I see it with.
Some friendly advice - the more you make predictions about today the greater chance you're gonna end up with foot in mouth syndrome once the real news breaks out today.

I could see that. I live just outside of Atlanta and do not work in the tech field.
Nothing at that price, but if you're getting one on contract, there are a number of options (Samsung, HTC, and esp. the LG G2 upon which the N5 is based).
That's assuming they're competing for the same customer. People who wanted an iPad are still going to get an iPad and people who want the Nexus 5 are still going to get the Nexus 5.

You should know as well as we do that every online tech site is all over Apple launch day events. How many people are in line, how many people buy a space grey one, how many people buy a 32gb, how many people buy more than one....it's ridiculous. Only the hardest of hardcore Android heavy sites would mention the Nexus 5 on an Apple device launch day. Especially since people are actually excited about this new iPad.
Yup, no other news goes on. Nothing. Engadget, TheVerge, it just becomes all iPad news. No other stories or links until the following day. That's how you do journalism right. Applelism, I'll call it.
When are people NOT excited about an Apple product? There's a reason why they're called iSheep.
Same thing here, though there are enough of them for sale on Craigslist. I see a lot of HTCs, Galaxies, and iPhones.
